As someone who could benefit from a Sprint/Charter relationship, I can get behind this! We need all of the small cells, strand mounts and backhaul we can get in NC/SC to fill in the very many gaps that exist on the Sprint network here.

I'll try and keep this as updated as possible as information becomes available. Maybe i'll find one time to do one for all of Sprints devices eventually...

Playground, the VC that's funding Essential, had a startup showcase here in town for SXSW (they rented out a bar on Rainey Street for today and tomorrow). I swung by and handed my contact info to one of the folks there re: the CLWR B41 issues (the 8.1 beta, which I have installed, doesn't seem to fully fix 'em). I will absolutely install a debug build on my phone if that helps Essential figure out what the heck is wrong with their ability to talk to Clearwire towers, to the point that, if I'm having data issues, chances are I'm on a Clearwire site. Which, if I'm downtown, at one of the meetups I go to, or at a coffee shop I go to often, I am. Apparently they were selling phones there, and you got their $99 headset if you bought one on the spot. Or, turns out, if you show up and already have the phone :D. Double win for me, as my new laptop has a couple Thunderbolt 3 ports, which do double duty as USB-C. The USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter worked perfectly with the laptop under Linux, and the headset does as well, at least for audio out. As an aside, I would've absolutely paid extra at the time for a matte-back phone. I knew it before handling a phone with that color/material scheme, but seeing one in real life confirmed this. Not trading in my current phone though

I'll make a spreadsheet for non BYOD devices in time. Sims are sorta "universal" if you take into considering the BYOD ones. The great reason why Sprint has so many sim variants is they're developing the sim card module as they update their network and devices. They have little experience in that category so must constantly iterate in order to take advantage of new technological developments on the handset and on the network side. We can see this move from USIMs to CSIMs and now ISIMs. S8 Active is.. CZ4114LWQ SIMOLW416Q 854798005125

I thought Charter said they were cool with their agreement with Verizon and was planning on using them for their MVNO (whenever that will be). I think for Charter to get in bed with Sprint they would need to see some major progress with the network. I think it would be a great move honestly. I use Spectrum for my home wifi and its great to get 100 down for $44 a month. But if we are all honest, even though Sprint has come a long way they just do not have the greatest track record. I do however hope that is a thing of the past starting next month.

Same here, I'm still thinking tomorrow the tracking information just hasn't been updated. I'm expecting a rogue update at some point overnight. *crosses fingers*

I do think it is over conservative for a lot of the Cleveland Market, actually. Basically any site that has received B41 since the beginning of 2017 is not showing on the map. Another couple map updates, and we'll be right back to the Cleveland area having hardly any B41. GRR!

Coming next: "Announcing Magic Box 5.0 - in addition to improved reception, it's a combination hookah and coffee maker! It slices, dices, and makes julienne fries!"

Couldn't help myself. Got to work today and went to put my lunch in the fridge. I noticed the microwave, did a double-take, then took this picture: I sent it to my wife with a note, "We must have good reception on the microwave today. 4 bars." I'll show myself out. - Trip

New system update prompt today & just installed it. I forgot to take a screenshot of the front end descriptor but it said something about optimization in addition to security updates, but there's no version change after the fact - still 7.0, and shows security patch level as February 1, 2018. New software version is LS992ZVF.
