Fraydog
So, koi, you want to dig into this bad boy to see if B41 is enabled out of the box?
Ascertion
This thread will be a discussion for all of those lucky enough to be awesome enough to have LG's G2. First impression: it's awesome. And.. go! Another Sprint employee from Android Central states that 4G connection drops on band 25, and requires manual airplane cycling to enable it again. Any input on this? He said the LG rep was aware of the issue.
ericdabbs
When you have a chance to activate it, can you verify if manually enabling B26 and B41 through MSL code sticks and allows us to use B26 and B41 LTE? I am sure everyone is interested in this. This way we can get an answer and put this question to bed.
koiulpoi
So, koi, you want to dig into this bad boy to see if B41 is enabled out of the box? I don't live in a BC41 area, so I can't test it. It says "band disabled" in the ##DATA# menu after activation, but it's easy to enable if you have your MSL. Another Sprint employee from Android Central states that 4G connection drops on band 25, and requires manual airplane cycling to enable it again. Any input on this? He said the LG rep was aware of the issue. That just sounds like normal 4G LTE scanning issues, but no, I haven't heard anything like this, nor experienced it. I was going to look it up in some of our internal systems and see, but the SKU doesn't even exist for Service and Repair yet...
Redx
That's been happening on my Note 2 lately no I don't have a G2 yet but I wanted to say that at least.

The Dave
I just want to state that all of y'all who have the G2 now suck and I hate all of y'all. With that said, that's pretty sweet. I also heard there were issues with LTE disconnecting and being unable to reconnect. Other than that, how is it? I'd like to see some with cases on to see how they look. WiWavelength
Well, when will we be seeing a full spread of engineering screen porn? Start with the usual suspects: ##DEBUG# and *#*#INFO#*#*. In this case, 1080p screenshots are fine if you do not have time to resize them. AJ
koiulpoi
So, LG's skin is ugly. But we knew this. Just installed Signalcheck Pro, Nova Launcher, and Swiftkey. Much better. @AJ: Screens incoming.

mjnoles1
How is signal strength compared to other Sprint phones? I know you just got it, so can not tell yet, but when you get a feel for reception compared to other Sprint phones, please let us know. Just uploaded a series of PNGs to imgur, and they won't post. Anyways, here's the gallery: <snipped because I'm silly> As you can see *#*#INFO#*#* doesn't work. Launching it through SignalCheck Pro gives that error.
KD8JBF
Are we SURE that this is a Tri-Band Phone.....HAHAHAHA....Just Kidding....

Hmm, so the phone info screen is there in the background, but something is blocking access to it. That is roughly what I was expecting, as I could never get *#*#INFO#*#* to work with the Optimus G. The benefit of the phone info screen is that a menu contained within can allow you to set the radio stack to LTE only, LTE/CDMA1X only, etc. Since the screen does appear in the background, I imagine that a workaround can be found. dbsynergy
Is there any way for you to find out if the Sprint LG G2 is factory unlocked like the Verizon model for domestic sim cards? http://www.androidcentral.com/verizon-s-lg-g2-unlocked-att-and-t-mobile-hspa

digiblur
Couple questions... what band priority combinations can you set? and does Signal Check pro show the PCI and/or GCI for LTE connection? Also awaiting the ##DEBUG# screen shots as well to see what LTE info is shown too. If you can't figure out the screenies I'm sure you could email them to me and I'll resize them and post.

ericdabbs
Is the band priority screen accessed via ##DATA#? AJ Yes!!! It is on the same page where you enable/disable all the LTE bands as shown below.

koiulpoi
Band Priority is editable, with your MSL. You can set a band to "high" or "low" priority, and it goes from there. LTE info will have to wait until I'm home and actually in an LTE area for longer than a few minutes at a time.

Awesome...so you could say set B41 as high, B26 as high, and B25 as low to get away from any dead PCS LTE channels?
