Sprint and HTC plan joint announcement, most likely the next HTC device...the S4GRU invitation must be lost in the mail!

Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 - 3:18 PM MDT

Today, Sprint releases invitations to the grand Sprint/HTC collaboration event, to be held on Wednesday, April 4th. We didn't get our invitation yet, but the mail man here at the Espanola post office can be slow. ;)

We can't help but jump to the conclusion that this event is to announce the upcoming HTC Evo One X Jet HD LTE, or whatever the name actually ends up being, that we broke the story about the past Sunday. If so, seems a little early. I'm sure HTC would love to have the announcement out there that their device is coming soon, before the Galaxy Nexus goes on sale. We wouldn't want any HTC fans to have an identity crisis and go out and buy a Samsung or LG only a few weeks before their preferred OEM released theirs.

Maybe we will hear pricing at this event? Either way, we feel a little vindicated. We had some people putting us down out there in tech media. And we did get the scoop first on this device. And we were on the money. Thanks to all of you who believe and support us!

And Dan, you can e-mail me the invitation if that's more convenient for you. :)

There are rumors now that the next Iphone will not work on Sprint LTE PCS band. If that is the case then Sprint signed their own death with that 15 billions dollar contract to Apple.

I think if Apple did that, they would be in breach of the spirit of the contract. Apple has no interest in intentionally trying to sign someone up like that last year only to pigeon hole them into 3G purgatory. That doesn't make any sense for Apple. They aren't pirates.

If I was a betting man, I think that the LTE iPhone will be supported for Sprint. Apple is going to have to make separate LTE versions for AT&T and Verizon anyway. They might as well have a third one for Sprint too.

I get Sprint leaks all the time. But Apple is not Sprint. Apple does not leak info. Zip. Zero. Nothing. So I would put zero credence in the rumors going around now.

There is a saying that, "Only fools, charlatans and liars predict earthquakes." I think the same can be said for those who predict Apple too. Especially this far out.

Beat me to it! What does this mean? I haven't seen that pin in a while.

Idk, but if that is a pin, it can possibly bring back the inclusion of the iconic Pin Drop into Sprint ads.

I hope it is a 2 device announcement. Since Virgin Is getting the "V" Sprint can announce the "S" and the "X". I like the smaller form factor.

Maybe some false rumors created by Sprint competitors.

Well this is a slap in the face and I've already sent engadget a "tip" with my complaint...Here is their article:

http://www.engadget....tion-april-4th/

Where they state in an UPDATE that "TECHNOBUFFALO" has it on good authority saying its going to be the OneX code name "Jet"!!!!

WTF! Whats worse is Engadget ran their own report earlier this week using S4GRU.com saying the same thing....yet now with the invitation out they give credit to another site for it being a OneX variant named Jet...

Don't get too worked up over engadget, that site has done down hill considerably over the last few years.

I was hoping for the HTC Evo One X Jet HD 4G LTE. And then we refer to it in our forums by its acronym E1XJHD4GLTE! :)

When I first saw that ad, it looked like the Stylus for the Note, but duh HTC doesn't make it, then again HTC makes the rumored Quattro 10.1 tablet (update for the Jet tablet on the other carrier), but it does look like a pin drop.

Most likely it is the HTC One X version for Sprint. But if its the Quattro it will be one heck of a announcement.

As for NYC being the place, yoo hoo. Too bad I have not way of crashing the party. If memory serves me right, the last time they did an event in NYC before wimax was officially up and running, they wired the building to get wimax signals, might do the same thing again with LTE.

Sorry for the back to back post (I hate doing those), but it seems that some how, some way, I got invited by Sprint to go to the event. But what is strange is that I do not recall signing up for anything and its coming from sprintevents@stantoncomm.com which has been used by Sprint in the past. I asked over in the Sprint forums and it seems that it wasn't them. It wasn't S4gru and Phandroid where I'm a mod didn't do it either. So for now its a mystery as how I got invited, but it seems the geek gods have smiled at me, so no need to crash that party. lol

I am sure to take images and write up what I see.

hmmm maybe I'll win one. That would be sweet.

Yea Sprint, Yea HTC.
