doomstang
Deployment is probably a few months from getting started in the STL Metro Area. There will be some sporadic Missouri market work in other areas in the interim, like Joplin, Springfield and Branson. So those two STL towers listed as 'In Progress' basically means they started a lil paperwork but don't intend to do anything for a few months? I'm such an impatient person so things like this are tough for me to cope with...but hey, it's somethin to look forward to

DaQue
They are doing backhaul and installing the cabinets. I talked to one of the guys doing work at the one off west fluorescent. I was there this last Saturday and more cabinets and some holes dug.
agentorange80
Does anyone have any info on what the US Cellular buy is going to do for LTE in St. Louis? Speed up the LTE setup, or delay it? What about coverage in general?

What about coverage in general? Probably won't affect Sprint's plan. USCC network will continue to operate in the foreseeable future. I forget the exact plans. Thankfully, hardware has been a pretty good deterrent for my eagerness.

dedub
I'd expect a lot of the angst/impatience with stl lte is due to the fact that stl has had wimax since the evo4g, but has been behind on the lte roll out, when alot of people have already since upgraded (downgraded) from wimax to 3g while waiting for lte. But at least we can start seeing actual progress now.

Fraydog
There are a few areas where Sprint may need to add filler sites to keep coverage equal to USCC. There's a couple I can think of in Randolph County, out by the World Shooting Complex and one in downtown Sparta.

Nah, you got it all wrong. This is Missourah. See that smoke shop 700 feet south of the site? It needs Internet access to process all of the EBT card transactions for the smokes, porn, fireworks, and walnut bowls it sells. That is why the site is there.
