So happy they kept him. Him and Gunther were my favorite sprint execs

Yeah. I'm glad they kept him as well. Gunther was also a great public personality for Sprint.

Dr. Saw has specific expertise of Sprint's 2.5 GHz (and its overall network) that's really important for network integration.

It looks like TMobile TAC's rolled out here in the PNW or at least TMobile changed them. A local tower used to broadcast 23314, this morning it switched to 11334. This happens to be the TAC that TMobile was using for their B4 service for Sprint customers (which would show up as Clearwire B4 or Sprint B4 in SignalCheck).

Exactly. I’m excited for this new chapter. Happy that everything was approved. Happy we won’t see Masa Son as much lol

Time to change the name to T5GRU and re-direct all S4GRU traffic to the site? 😄

Only if they haul him off to prison.   Then I'll enjoy "seeing" him.

So CPUC is mad because T-Mo and Sprint didn't wait for the official vote before closing the merger. CPUC already said they were gonna vote yes so I don't know why they're being whiners.

So nearly a month wasn't enough time for them to do what they said they would do? Screw 'em!

I hate seeing people take this kind of stance against the merger, especially writing articles about it. Like at least give it 6 months to a year then judge it. 1ce2b47f0cf8662abbaa6f0b4d8a37b8.jpg

I have a feeling this kind of stuff is deliberate in order to generate traffic from hate clicks. It's for when normal authorship just doesn't cut it.

I guess this is how we're going to get Network updates from this point forward? I have a feeling T-Mobile won't break-out Sprint Network information separately, except for transition-related information.

One thing I noticed... He didn't "@" Sprint. He did "#" instead. Perhaps the new brand guidelines are already a thing?

See this video from his Tweet as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gblKI87IcaM&t=

EDITED: I just noticed in a later tweet that did "@" Sprint.... False alarm.

Hurray!!!! I roamed on Band 4 today. The merger is real for me finally 😁. But then it went into Sprint 3G in the spot in the house that I had reliable if slower band 25. Maybe they are still configuring this area.

I have bounced around pretty heavily these past few days. This morning it was B4, B25, B26, and B41 all in the matter of 2 minutes while a couple days ago I even hopped on B12 and B2.

I just did a speediest while on 4: .10Mbps. Yikes...and I was complaining about 5Mbps on band 25.

I'm not convinced much has actually changed yet.  It seems to me like they've opened up roaming a touch more, but otherwise Sprint customers are still on the Sprint network as much as possible.  I have yet to connect to T-Mobile anything since the day of the merger.

    • I definitely don't need more coverage... just the damn VoLTE activated so I can get calls and MMS at the same damn time. Like I said, it isn't a huge deal, just annoying that this is even a problem in the first place. They told me AR4 are out of stock and they have no idea when they'll be back, nor can they put me in touch with someone that knows. They said they just have to keep checking and see if it comes back in stock. Once again, I said that is nonsense, but what can I really do about it. For right now, the Pebble boosting the LTE, and using wifi calling, is working fine for my needs. Much better than the AR2.5 I was using which didn't work at all.
    • Yeah VoLTE took forever on Airave 4s, but it's definitely working now. Supposedly it was enabled months ago, but not necessarily for existing devices (only new ones). I had to factory reset mine to get it back in the queue, but after 2.5 weeks it got it. My Magic Box with wired backhaul, on the other hand, got it only 3 days after a factory reset. It seems that a lot of femtos setup before VoLTE launched never got put back in the queue (particularly femtos using WiFi or Ethernet backhaul), hence the necessary factory reset. I'm not sure if an Airave 4 would offer substantial coverage improvement over the Pebble, other than having CDMA as a fallback. If you need to cover a larger area, you can use both actually. They should handoff to one another with VoLTE, just keep them sufficiently far apart to minimize interference. And you'll probably have to tell Sprint it's for use at a different address, but they won't actually check where it's deployed. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
    • Do it quickly.  My impression is T-Mobile really wants to move people to their network ASAP, even if it causes lots of pain. August 1 is rumored to be the end of Sprint retail.
    • I'm trying to switch over to the Airave 4 now that the've enable VoLTE on them. That should fix this problem. The only reason I got the Pebble over the AR4 is because VoLTE wasn't enable on it yet.
    • My router typically only gets rebooted for firmware updates or major functionality changes that I have implemented. Otherwise stays up for years.  Last time it was down is when Hurricane Ike remnants hit Ohio in 2008 and caused week long power outages, which killed local internet in a few days (I have two ISPs, UPSes, generator).  ISP's battery backups and generator use had improved considerably since that time. Making changes appears to be the greatest reason for router instability. So put internet connections on a UPS,  reboot after major changes, and otherwise enjoy.
