I've honestly never seen one in the wild other than mine. Always see Samsung and iPhones only [emoji20]
Me either. I used to see a lot of LG phones, but the endless boot loop problems on the G series phones really hurt them I think.

Ok it's been 30 minutes, what's the verdict? A real life review is required. emoji23.png

One of the main features I used before this is gone unless I can't find it to turn it back. I can't do Multi-screen. I hold down the button when trying to half screen apps and it doesn't work. That right there is enough to mess with me. I use it for when driving Uber/Lyft for having both apps open to turn off one if I get a request. Also I run Signal Check and Waze at the same time and can't do that. Not happy about that.

I had to search, because I couldn't figure it out either. Two things: they changed how you activate it, and gestures are disabled by default even if they were enabled in 9. That may not be required for multi-window to work, but I was used to using it. To turn that on, just search for gesture in settings and you can turn it on (I set to both buttons and gestures). Then, to use multi-window, you have to get to card/task switch view, then press and hold the title above the app you want to split, and select multi-window.

Why can't you run Waze and Signal Check at the same time? Do you mean in split screen (multi-window)?

Issue fixed. But yes. I run Signal Check at top with Waze at the bottom

So since messing with it for a few hours it is an adjustment to the changes.

Pros:

  • In Split screen I use to have Signal Check selected for it to update the tower information. No longer have that issue with Waze selected on bottom
  • Love the auto night mode option now (granted all apps don't utilize it I like it)
  • Like the new layout of drop down

pretty sure I'll find more

Cons:

  • Issue with Pandora and Google Music sounds like it is skipping. Has done this before on previous updates on other LG phones for me. Uninstalled Pandora still happening
  • Split screen seems more difficult to activate/deactivate
  • Still no hotspot button in the dropdown menu

Neutral

  • On the camera not sure I like the new selection of the three cameras

Will update if finding more

Heard from sprint CS that the V50 has been discontinued. Any other confirmation?

I wouldn't be surprised. Didn't see it selling anywhere else for a while.

It's not available on sprint.com anymore, but the V40 is.. I'm taking that as a sign. Good thing they practically gave the device to me, or I'd be feeling pretty upset. I suspect it's just because it doesn't support TMO's 5G bands, as my understanding is that the S20 5G devices do. I didn't see the OnePlus Pro 5G out there either - only the S20s.

I'm in the phx market and haven't been able to get on 5G any longer.  Is that the same for other v50 owners.

It's working fine here in KC on my V50. Not driving to Phoenix to check there LOL [emoji23]

I miss Arizona, but I don't know if I'm ever going to get back for a visit. Would love to check out the old neighborhood in Chandler. Our old house is still there, but everything around it has changed significantly! There used to be cotton fields along the road I walked to gradeschool, that are now big housing subdivisions.

That is a strong possibility on that humidity.

    • Yet another "Carrier" move: T-Mobile users have only now discovered sneaky change made in May
    • Went to Hurricane Harbor again this past weekend, this time testing Verizon and T-Mobile. In my testing, Verizon is now the fastest carrier, at least on the Hurricane Harbor sector. Despite it being pretty overcast on Saturday with temperatures in the mid-80's the park was at full capacity.  Verizon had 160MHz of n77 and T-Mobile now has 160MHz of n41. On LTE I was seeing speeds in the range of 50-100Mbps while T-Mobile's LTE on was completely swamped, barely crossing 3Mbps. While both carriers only have a single high capacity sector (facing Great Adventure, Verizon benefits from having CBRS deployed on all sectors. This is an extra 60-100MHz of capacity that T-Mobile doesn't have. Maybe when T-Mobile gets around to deploying their C-band we'll see a boost in speeds again to be more competitive with Verizon. On the 5G side of things, T-Mobile's speeds were just over half that of Verizon.  That said, neither carrier was slow and I had zero issue using Xbox Cloud Gaming on T-Mobile despite their weaker upload speeds and higher ping.
    • I think the newer ones have signal bars on them. I took a photo of one in Red Hook a month or two ago that had the same design.
    • Well well, looks like we found one of the two Link5G towers that might actually have 5G. Notice anything different? This one has the same signal bars icon that the pole mounted 5G oDAS units have. It’s in Chinatown at East Broadway and Forsyth St. It’s impossible to tell what carrier it is, though.
