Anyone having problems updating the YouTube app on your phone?  My update gets to about 50% download then stops.  I've tried clearing the data for the Google store app and restarting my phone.

1) Has anyone here been switched over to the T-Mobile network as their primary like the S20 users?

2) Has anyone had any issues with getting the Samsung Band Selector app to function now (it did work previously)?

I am just trying to see what T-Mobile is doing with Sprint phones, which appears to be without users permissions.  Fine if you like in an area with great T-Mobile service.  Not so good if t-Mobile is mediocre where you need it while Sprint is great or you have a very functional Magicbox or Airave.

Just added a line with the S10 Plus $0 monthly lease, $20 a month for my fourth line. My first Android phone in eight years. Couldn’t resist. I ditched the Sprint Complete on my three other current iPhone lines, that was costing me $45 per month. Also ditched my $15 iPad cellular line which I rarely used. Now I have four lines, a new phone, and still cheaper than I was paying prior. I can finally tool around with SignalCheck and CellMapper and satisfy my inner nerd. [emoji2]

I've done a few profile updates over the last few weeks and I'm still on Sprint, at least in the Milwaukee area.  I'm concerned about what service I will get with my S10 because while Sprint isn't great here, T-Mobile is even worse (Milwaukee is probably the most spectrum starved TM market), and B71 is only deployed in a few areas.

They seem to be putting their eggs all in the 5G basket, not caring about keeping any of B41 for LTE.  DSS can allow this, but all they've said it is buggy.

In most metro areas there is enough for both. Getting Magic Boxes off b41 to wifi will given them 20Mhz.  In small city areas with 55MHz effectively then are activating 15Mhz LTE. Hard to determine if that is to leave 20Mhz for 5g or not.

    • Unable to confirm if it's really off but I noticed this morning that I'm no longer connecting to Band 41 on my home site. Switching my phone to LTE-only pretty much always put me on Band 41 since it was the least used band on T-Mobile's network. Now I'm only able to connect to Band 2/66. Not complaining because it means speeds are faster on LTE and maybe 150MHz n41 is around the corner.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
