New tower spotted in Columbus...could it be Sprint?

Recommended Posts

There’s a tower that’s been built in Columbus in Livingston and courtright. The antennas are mounted and they are small. This area is probably the most dense on Sprints Network. I hope this is the beginning of my calls connecting sooner than 7 blocks away from my home. Can anyone confirm who owns this?

I saw that tower maybe 2 weeks ago passing by. It was very odd looking only because it was places smack dab in the middle of that parking lot. I do know that I've seen a few Verizon towers go up in Columbus as of late but the antennas are placed very close to each other paired off.

You could also post your comment in the Columbus forum on here.

Post a pic? that Tim guy can tell what gear is what in his sleep. This reminds me there was someone with ropes up on Hill Rd/33 tower Friday night. I need to see what they've done.

Did some digging for Columbus permits to see if I could help.  3603 Livingston Ave sound right?  If so:

"DESCRIPTION OF WORK: NEW MONOPOLE CONSTRUCTION FOR CELL SITE OF T-MOBILE." (Emphasis mine.)

I just checked on Google Maps and that looks to be right from when I saw it in that parking lot in passing.  I can swing by there today and grab a pic.

Here are the images of that tower of Livingston and Courtright. It’s definitely not a Sprint tower.

That looks like a T-Mobile RAS setup.

    • So many groups have made up their minds first, find facts to back them later.  In a more straightforward article would want to see the models assumptions in detail.  The article quotes Dish, whose role is typically to drive up the costs of mergers.  Without Dish doing that for the purchase of Clearwire, there possibly could have been billions more for Sprint network expansion or lower prices.
    • All small cells that we have seen in Ohio have a PCI of 450 or greater.
    • I still think that the prices will be more in mind for Verizon and AT&t. Honestly to build out a maintain and expand the network of that caliber and size you need obviously more money from your revenue source which is consumers. So in these higher prices to build out the network and to maintain it it cost lots and lots and lots of money I do not see prices going lower. They would not be turning a profit they kept prices where they are.

    • I agree with you but I could see them get in trouble with their wording. On https://newtmobile.com/ it states  I could see them come back and say well lower than Verizon and AT&T...
    • You obviously need to have higher prices to build out a better Network it obviously does not come cheap.
