In case anyone wanted to see me lose my mind during the total eclipse :P

Sprint held up well through the whole event despite about 2 or 3 thousand people sharing the view with us.

This is my favorite image I've seen come out of Monday thus far:

What's the source of that? That looks like an annular eclipse. There was nowhere, even in the pacific that would have seen a shot like that with this eclipse.

Can't give you a direct source other than 'Facebook'.  If it turns out it was photoshopped somehow I'll be sad, but I love it nonetheless

Edit:  Nevermind, it was photoshopped after all after I went back further into the posting.   :(

Awesome! I was in Grand Island, NE to see it. Simply amazing! Pictures and videos still don't describe the moment as seeing it in person.

Pictures and videos still don't describe the moment as seeing it in person.

I cherish things like that, sadly I wasn't able to be in a totality area for this.  There's only been 2 things I've experienced otherwise like that, and only one is consistent.  The consistent one is Crater Lake in Oregon on a clear or otherwise mostly clear with a few white puffy clouds day;  the natural purity of the water in that lake and the way it looks in person to your eyes....most pictures/video will never do it justice.

The unique one was the only time I've been to the Grand Canyon - it was off the North Rim (less visited by comparison to the interstate side from what I've read), and the day we were there (this was in the summer and late afternoon/early evening, probably about 5-6pm or thereabouts), right above us and to the east and straightline in the west, it was completely clear blue sky, but off in the distance to the southwest there was a *very* intense thunderstorm moving in with streak lightning.  This was before cellphones were a thing, but there were loads of people including myself burning through film rolls trying to capture lightning snapshots.

At any rate, as time passed and the storm moved in over the 'Y' fork you can see to the east where the canyon splits to the south/southeast and the other fork continues east and curves northeastward in the distance, at one point the storm clouds in the distance were finally poised right over the fork area and an obvious deluge of rain pouring with the sun back in the west bearing down on it, and it created a dual parallel half-arc set of rainbows coming out of the dark cloud into the canyon.   From one perspective that beats an eclipse because those can obviously be predicted, whereas this was a perfect right place/right time moment that I was just beyond fortunate to have been able to witness.

Dang David...  I bet you could give Jim Cantore a run for his money during a Thundersnow!!!

The eclipse was cool in Nashville as well.  Unfortunately, I did not have a camera with a filter lens.  Luckily, the clouds stayed away during totality.  Here is a shot a friend that was with me took with the cloud cover that did not need a filter.

I'm still not seeing any signs of Nibiru approaching.

I know I'm late to the party, but was a first party witness to this :)

    • Sorry, I wasn't clear, the Evergreen Hospital MM setup I already located a while ago. The eNBs for those were: B6BD7, B6BD9, B6BDB. I meant for the cluster of MM which I can't locate in Kirkland. Just like Totem Lake and the John Muir school, there are three MM nearby with their eNB separated by 2 digits and one reports as an MM/SC. As expected, SE03XC353 tends to overwhelm them in most normal areas, making location more difficult. It seems that their job is to fill in the "shadows" for SE03XC353. My guess is all three are located at the aforementioned Clear site in Kirkland, but I am not 100% certain on that yet. I will drive around to see if I can collect better data on CellMapper. As an aside, it seems like it is common in a cluster of three for one of them to report as an MM/SC on SignalCheck. Even the one I found which had the last eNB off by one, instead of two, still had one of them as an MM/SC.
    • Yes, Sprint was required by the US government to decommission all Huawei equipment due to security concerns.  Sprint has historically had issues with the property owner of that Motel 6. It was one of the last sites upgraded to LTE, and it will probably be one of the last sites upgraded to triband.  That permit is for the Clear site by Kirkland marina. There is a mini-macro setup on the roof of Evergreen Hospital by Totem Lake.

    • That makes sense, I said "loves" strictly because I have encountered so many of them near me. I didn't know about the Huawei aspect of things. They are very well located normally, providing coverage for weak spots from the "main" tower.   As for Evergreen, that would make sense, it's a high location in what has become a VERY busy area. I am guessing that is why the tower over on the Motel 6 nearby has not been upgraded. Also, that is good to know about all of the MM clusters. That combined with this permit makes me think that I am correct on the location. The only thing I need to determine if all three eNB are at the same site.
