What screen protectors do you guys use/recommend for the S8 (not plus)? Was looking at many on Amazon, and many reviews stating screen protectors don't cover entire screen, or won't stick to edges causing lifting in cases.

I've had good luck with both the Otium and Ottao TGSP's on my GS8+.

I don't have any adhesive or sticking issues because after applying the TGSP, I always turn off the phone and heat up the glue with a heat gun on low setting.

I use Zagg and let them install it at the mall.

I use the liquid ones. I have two boxes of two inside each one. I bought the wrong ones for my device ( have 8 plus) it's from IQ Shield and it's case friendly, has little space between the edge of the case. If you want them, I'll ship you them for a few bucks.

Tim!!! What is this on beta 5??? I thought 4x4 MIMO was a no go on b41?420275af321073fbf8e7d087068c685d.jpg08fd26b611034b8ecf1025806f8ffd9c.jpg Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

No. B41 will have 4x4 mimo 64qam and 256 qam and hopefully 64qam up. The S8 just doesn't support 256qam on B41. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Pretty sure it was the other way around, supported 256qam on b41 but no 4x4. Hopefully it's now supported, but would have to go through FCC for re-certification

I was told the S8 doesn't support 256 qam. I've heard every Sprint LTE phone supports 4x2 mimo so I'm am sure the S8 supports 4x4.

Quote from fox article..

"The phone also supports 3x carrier aggregation and 256 QAM on Sprint, and will be able to get 4x4 MIMO coverage on the 1900MHz PCS band with a "future software update." That will extend 1900MHz coverage for this phone. However, the S8 is not a full gigabit phone on Sprint, as it won't have 4x4 MIMO on the 2.5GHz band. Sprint demoed gigabit capabilities last month using a future Motorola device."

Wow. I didn't know that. So does support 256qam on both B25 and 41? Wonder if they plan for it on B26 in the future.

Like he said though the MIMO option on b41 and b25 seems to indicate that the S8 could possibly be recertified for 4x4 mimo on b41. This is a beta though so hold all judgements for the final build.

    • Unable to confirm if it's really off but I noticed this morning that I'm no longer connecting to Band 41 on my home site. Switching my phone to LTE-only pretty much always put me on Band 41 since it was the least used band on T-Mobile's network. Now I'm only able to connect to Band 2/66. Not complaining because it means speeds are faster on LTE and maybe 150MHz n41 is around the corner.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
