DSU unlock what's the delay?

iPhone 6s from lease paid off remaining payments and purchase option. Requested unlock, they told me 48 hours. 48 hours later I call back since it isn't unlocked still and they tell me 48 hours again.

Isn't there some policy by the FCC where if Sprint hasn't unlocked your phone within 2 days of paying it off you can submit a complaint?

I don't know the policy on that. ON boost and, virgin if you buy a iphone. which is paid for when you buy it they will not unlock for a year. Even then its like pulling teeth. Tried to get my sisters phone unlocked and, they basically didn't want to. Told me I just need to use MSL code to unlock then didn't want to talk to me after that.

I know, they really are jerks about unlocking.

I unlocked a samsung shortly after I bought it.  They were nice enough to unlock it for me after enough of me bugging them.  They were also nice enough to remove the MEID from their whitelist, too.

I just wanted to try it out on T-Mobile, then had to fight to get them to add back the MEID to the whitelist.

Bottom line, finance your iphone through apple so it's unlocked.  For the iphone 7, buy a Verizon model in store and finance from apple.

    • Boost Mobile – the Newest Wireless Carrier – Launches New State-of-the-Art Nationwide 5G Network, Plans and Branding https://about.dish.com/2024-07-17-Boost-Mobile-the-Newest-Wireless-Carrier-Launches-New-State-of-the-Art-Nationwide-5G-Network,-Plans-and-Branding I'm really digging the relaunch of the brand. The new app is a lot better than before in that it actually feels like they're going a more premium route. The BoostOne app tried to gamify wireless service by making you want videos or download games in order to get discounts on your bill. Now it's decluttered and basically only account management. It's perfect. I was on a promotional $25/month unlimited plan on Boost Mobile and I just switched to the new $25 forever plan which is pretty much the same as before, the only exception being that now I'm price locked. The only thing I wish they'd do is start using QCIs instead of throttling once you use up your allotment of "premium data". I understand that they don't have as much capacity as the big 3 and that they're super reliant on AT&T and T-Mobile outside of major metros but hitting 30GB and being throttled to 512kbps is not competitive. They then try to charge $30 for an extra 10GB of high speed data. The big 3 and their prepaid brands have basically given up on hard throttling and use prioritization instead. They should consider doing the same. The next step for them is getting their name on Apple's websites this fall when the new iPhones drop. That's some of the best advertising a carrier can have. Instantly millions of people will learn that Boost Mobile is an actual carrier if they can pull that off.
    • Use cloud features or backup files first before updating with this firmware.  I updated my S24 Ultra with this update.  T-Mobile and Verizon network esims worked fine.  Dish Rainbow sim appeared to work fine.  Right after that, when I rebooted to another non-public test esim which previously worked fine, I got the Samsung Welcome screen.
