An employee on the Sprint subreddit posted that tomorrow's promotion has been changed. Instead of three months, you will have to have had your phone for seven months to be eligible.

Alright, I've coached up my parents with enough knowledge to make them dangerous tomorrow at a Sprint store.  I hope it goes as planned.  They started their leases on Nov 29, 2014, so they're past the 3, 7, or 12 month cuts.  My dad's line still isn't showing the "upgrade eligible" icon online yet, but that doesn't make any sense as it was started the same time as my mom's which does have it. Oh well, hope it works for them!

I'm showing on my brother's account that no loyalty credit will be added upon checkout.  I really do not want to lose his $19 credit so I'll probably call in shortly.

 

Why do the loyalty credits vary so much, $19, $15, $10??  When I got the $15 one last Nov (2014) they said (and was in writing) as long as you keep leasing a device, you'll keep the loyalty credit.  I'm assuming that the credit amounts, and maybe the fine print have evolved with it over the year???

Be careful. According to Sprint care on Twitter, this is not the case.

EDIT: Just realized your initial question.  Bestbuy had a promo for $19 credit during a period of time and we took advantage of it on one line.  At the same time, Sprint's was $15/line through them.  Now I believe it's been bumped down to $10 credit per line.

My dad is reporting that the employee he's dealing with indicates that there is NO problem keeping his loyalty credits, upgrading his current leases, etc. I'll update if this isn't the case in the end.  They're spending the time using the Samsung switch utility to transfer stuff.....68 year old parents don't get "the cloud".

 

EDIT as an update: 

 

It looks like everything went as planned.  There is a $200 charge lingering on our Sprint account at this time for the Lease Cancellation Fee, but the employee assured my dad that would clear up in a day or two as they work things out.  It also appears as though the $15 loyalty credit will remain as well.  Hope others have luck. 

 

EDIT EDIT:  That $200 charge is a placeholder until the leased devices that were turned in make it back to the Sprint warehouse and get into the system there.  Sprint CS has been really great today.  Well done to them! 

 

Also, the Loyalty Credits will remain in perpetuity until you change your plan, so do NOT change your plan, that's the only way they can take them away from you.

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.

      At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!
