New unlocked phone every year and it includes AppleCare. Thoughts?

Sprint's precarious debt position might be helped by consumers now getting their iPhones financed directly from Apple rather than Sprint historically having to buy the full-cost devices upfront (using borrowed money) and then slowly recouping the money from customers in installments.

I do really like that the phones with Apple's plan are unlocked from the start though, versus with Sprint's you can't domestic unlock the iPhone until the lease is completely paid for.

I think the pros of this deal outweigh the cost deficit. Fully unlocked, Apple Care included, the ability to move carriers without having to pay off the device, etc. Especially now that Apple Care costs $129, I feel like this is a pretty good deal. Of course, if you have no intentions of leaving Sprint, breaking/damaging your phone, or traveling internationally and not wanting to worry about having to get your device unlocked, then the Sprint deal is a better choice.

So what other carriers would an unlocked Sprint iPhone 6s(plus) work on? I read there are separate gsm and cdma versions. I have a year of payments left on my 6+, so I probably won't be doing anything soon. I guess I should look up how much I get for this 64gb one.

The CDMA versions have all the GSM bands, I believe, so it should work everywhere as long as it's unlocked.

A second look (I shouldn't do this at work) shows the CDMA version just adds to the GSM version. It lists everything it has and more.

Wow Sprint versions get $100 less . I wonder if the would unlock it if I paid it off.

how important is band 30?

Isn't band 30 like AT&T WCS spectrum @2.3 GHz? The only phones I know of that support it are the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The moto x pure doesn't have it either.

 

edit: oh and the note 5 has it I guess

So $15 iPhone Forever price offer ends today and tomorrow it will be $22?

So people will have a phone for possibly 15 days before trading it in? Seems like now that we know the official preorder and available dates Sprint should extend the $15 until the end of the month.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.

      At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!
