No new sites added in Madison, WI or Milwaukee, WI as far as I can tell. I also browsed around much of Wisconsin and didn't find any new sites.

New tower that I don't see on your maps in Ham Lake, MN off of Lexington Ave NE (aka Cty. Hwy 17)

Approximate GPS coordinates: 45.289033,-93.143452 (http://g.co/maps/vuupx)

This one was already reported up in the thread. Thanks for posting, though!

bad news for Sprint in PHX

http://www.kpho.com/...ell-phone-tower

I think the cell phone tower in question is the one that is pictured in this artice http://s4gru.com/ind...prints-network/

Edit: upon doublechecking it, the pic I used was from an elementary school in California http://www.mnn.com/family/family-activities/blogs/california-school-launches-cell-tower-study Sprint must like leasing space from elementary schools for their towers.

Last one for today on Marathon, FL on the way to Key West.

Man that would be an awesome tower to work on!!

Most peaceful job ever was climbing towers in the Gulf. Over 80 miles off the coast, pristine blue water, and you can see for miles...all by yourself with no one bugging ya! Miss those days!

Got one here in Stafford Virginia. GPS Coordinates 38°26'6.68"N 77°23'29.07"W. Stuck up on a electrical tower at The intersection of County Rd 721 and Apple Blossom Ct. Funny that a tower built so recently wouldn't have been constructed to Network Vision specs. It seems inefficient to stand a tower up only to have to send a crew back to retrofit it with in year.

Here is the link to the location in Google Maps

I wonder if these iden towers that move to sprint will be new towers or just upgrades to them?

None of the Nextel iDEN towers are moving to Sprint. They all are slated for decommissioning. Only the Nextel 800MHz spectrum will be moving over to Sprint CDMA sites.

Why would they decomission all Nextel towers when some of them are in prime locations which sprint has poor coverage?

It's a great question. I hope somebody asks Mr. Hesse at the 1st Q earnings report.

The answer why is financial. Right, wrong or indifferent. Sprint is banking on getting the network down to 38,000 sites. However, in my opinion, there are less than 1,000 iDEN sites that Sprint would need to keep. Ideally, Sprint should convert these 1,000 sites to Sprint CDMA/LTE in Network Vision to expand and fill in coverage holes. Louisiana would be one of the chief areas impacted for the good with my Nextel conversion plan.

This really is the only noteworthy negative comment I have on Sprint and Network Vision. It is a huge missed opportunity. :imo:

25401, nothing going on, and we are talking about .1 to .25 Mbit/s max 3g speeds, no 4g until probably 2015.

This is a Shentel area. Shentel has big NV plans and is already underway. Shentel will be completely done with NV in mid 2013. No need to be so pessimistic. You'll fare a lot better than most other similar types of areas.

Explain "Shantel" please. Is that a subcontractor or former wireless company?
