I can see T-Mobile's position.
You can always go direct to the manufacturer in some cases and get unlocked devices on a monthly payment plan.

Believe I came across a new TMO co-lo in the Paradise Valley/Echo Lake area (eNB 380789, gNB 1877976).
Per this permit, TMO is co-locating on a tower there:

This likely will replace the nearby eNB 97245 which was never upgraded.
