Clear Outage (Band 41 LTE)

B41 has been down here in Hartford for the past three weeks. It follows me throughout Hartford, Manchester and Windsor. This has been such a pain as band 41 seems to be the band with the highest priority and my phone always picks it up which leaves me with a gray LTE icon that won't push any data. Switching to CDMA was my only option for a stable data connection.

Can you update your profile to your current device? That can help in identifying problems. Thanks!

I was in Newington on August 15 and had B41 running just fine. Sure it's not your phone somehow?

I doubt it. Maybe I'm going to far back. It's probably only been two weeks but seems much longer.. Have you been connecting to band 41 with no issues as of lately? I doubt it's my phone. I have so many tickets open its not even funny.

Yes and I have, both profile and prl. I even did a ##786# reset and almost had a non working phone because band 41 wouldn't push data to provision the device. Had to wait till I got to an area where 41 wasn't available to do the hands free activation successfully.

HA!! I meant your profile on this site. It shows Galaxy Note 2 at the moment. I do not believe that is correct. What device are you using?

No problems, but I'm home from my trip now. I was only in Connecticut for a day and had B41 for much of my time there.

Oh OK cool. I've had this phone since release and always had a stable connection to band 41. I don't see how my phone could just crap out on one band but work fine on the others. I'll see if I could get my hands on another tri band phone and see if the problem exist on it sometime soon.

Well here's my update. I guess something went wrong with my device when the ota enabling CA pushed through. After trouble shooting and finding out it was my device not the network, Sprint was nice to send me a replacement free. Look at what this new bad boy pulled my best so far. I almost had a heart attack. Been enjoying CA for almost 2 months now! It's pretty wide spread from Hartford to Manchester ????

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
