After playing with the new update for about 5 days, it definitely is an improvement moving from band to band. Especially from 3g to LTE, it is extremely quick to move away from 3G onto LTE.

Signal strength is about the same, scan times are just much faster.

Very good experience so far.

Does yours latch onto Band 41 much easier with the update?  I was having a bit of issue with doing so on 5.0, now on 5.0.1 I latch onto Band 41 pretty quickly.

Also I am wondering if anyone else is having the same signal issue I do.  While out and about my nexus 6 is in my lap in the car and it generally drops down to 3G quite a bit, but If its sitting upright or on my dash it picks up LTE much easier.  When sitting flat in my lap though I am dropped to 3G a ton while my GS5's latch onto LTE no matter where they are sitting.

Possible work-around for this (worked for me)- go to radio info shortcut *#*#4636#*#* then phone information and click turn on sms over ims (only click once), **probably uses data**

*****does not help with mms, only sms-for me *****

Thanks for the tip, I just turned it on, I'll give it a shot today and see.

I noticed lately that if my phone is asleep (ie screen off) for a bit then the first sms lags and duplicates. Then if I'm texting very often after that they send instantly. It's at least an improvement over where this was a month ago.

This is such a weird bug... Hopefully the IMS thing fixes it, though it possibly will disable the ability to send it receive sms while on a call.

Edit: it didn't fix it for me.

My nexus 5 has this problem. My nexus 6 doesn't do this as bad but it still does it. From my experience dBm drops on every phone if you put it down in the car.

I had an issue last night activating my wife's nexus from the Play Store that was originally activated on Tmobile. When they activated the phone. We got voice/text, but no lte. It just happened to be the sim chip was bad.

I ordered mine from Sprint the morning orders opened and had trouble activating online. A call to EPRP customer care solved the issue, however.

Got my Nexus from a Sprint store no problems except the lag on some SMS. That's it.

Just activated a 64gb n6 bought from the motorola web site. Went to a sprint store for the sim card. Voice text and lte all seem to be working fine.

Woah sweet! I get about one bar LTE in my house or 3g it jumps back and forth with my m8. Does the N6 have a great radio like the N5?

And I ordered my Sim from sprint international. But I usually go to fairlawn.

To me the Nexus 6 radio is better than the Nexus 5 especially in band 26/41 reception. I'm on LTE about 30% more since purchasing this device.

It is way better than my wife's photon q. My photon 4g doesn't have lte.

So far love everything. Camera is great. Size is awesome. Love the screen. Looking for a case just to be on the safe side. Found a couple on amazon that look good.

Mine came in early, maybe yours will too. Just sent a picture text to the photon q. It went in just a couple seconds and worked great. Calls seem okay so far.

Fear not the camera is great. The camera app needs a few more features though.

By golly that is what people are saying. Only thing it appears to lack is carrier aggregation on band 41.

www.extremetech.com/extreme/192101-nexus-6-the-best-android-smartphone-for-wireless-and-lte-connectivity

Personally I don't buy non-Samsung Galaxy phones because I live by Super AMOLED and stylus. If you're like me, we will be waiting for a compatible Note 4 or 5 / Edge phone to be launched.

People were saying the roaming might not be on till 2015 in another thread I was reading on this..

I am too excited about that new roaming agreement for the new Oregon coverage on Snake River PCS/etc. Hope to see some more back country coverage. And some more towers to become open in the mountains. Spark and carrier aggregation in the cities are also going to be cool.

BTW Nexus 6 does have an Amoled display.

I know but not a stylus... I am a Note fan.

Also I stick away from Google, Motorola, LG, Apple, HTC branded devices. Last one I bought was an EVO 3D.

With the Google Nexus, I would be upset with it probably because it is a Motorola and Google, and it will have the stock Google OS / ASOP. I prefer TouchWhiz all the way. Samsung's camera app is also way better. Based on my comparisons of Google ROM Edition and Samsung ROMs on my previous Galaxy S4..

I could not live without the extra functionality of a Samsung branded phone.
