I connected to band 41 about a month ago near Bethany Home and 7th but that was the first and only time. I will be more excited when we see band 26.

I connected at work in downtown Buckeye and speeds were not super impressive 9-10mbps. More than enough for most purposes, so I was fine.

Nothing. That's why I said it was fine, but not a spectacular brag-worthy speed.

 

I do have concerns that as the subscriber load increases there may not be a lot of bandwidth. I am reasonably confident that currently I'm one of few users on that tower during the day.

You would likely get much more than 9-10Mbps if you were one of the only users on that site during the day.  Probably just waiting on a backhaul increase.

 

But additional subscriber counts is what B41 is for.  So, in time, increased loads will not be a problem.  Sprint can add a lot more B41 capacity than VZW, AT&T and T-Mobile can add combined with the additional spectrum they have available or can refarm.

I wanted to ask, what is the effective range of B41?  I seem to lose the B41 signal at the tower near my work when I am more than 1/4 mile from it.  That is disheartening because I'll almost never get B41 in my area at buildout.

It's highly variable. Typically 1-5 miles. It's likely that your site has not been optimized yet.

Saw a post potentially on here I believe? Mentioned that B41 is 2-3dBm weaker than B25 and B26 is 5-6 dBm stronger than B25 (but B26 can penetrate). Feel free to correct

Better step up? You're threatening Sprint? Just leave.

 

If you MUST have high speed LTE in a public venue point loaded with tens of thousands of customers, you should go find another provider. Sprint really isn't even working on stadiums yet. Just their macro network. Most NFL stadiums have fantastic WiFi.

I do agree that Sprint really needs to make a big showing for the Super Bowl. They need to have every adjacent site B41 with at least three B41 LTE carriers, as well as all the COWs needed.

 

I doubt they are upgrading their DAS this year at Glendale Stadium. Although they should have.

High possibility of Samsung being brought in temporarily to deploy 8T8R B41 equipment in Phoenix because of ALU equipment shortages especially with the recent findings from the Phoenix premiers.

It's probably a special case since the superbowl is happening in Phoenix.

 

Non compete clauses forbid each vendor from deploying their equipment in the other vendors markets. It's a major reason why Samsung will be decommissioning their dual mode TDD-LTE / Wimax equipment from the Nokia and ALU markets starting late next year (the other two vendors will replace the Samsung equipment with their own).

Agreed.  While the Macro network is obviously the first priority, I am surprised Claure isn't jumping onto new projects that the bulk of the engineering work could be handled concurrently with VZN/ATT DAS roll outs.  At this stage in the game, it will be VERY difficult to compete with AT&T/VZN once projects like these are completed.

This position will be responsible for independently managing critical pre and post installation in-building signal testing (~375 buildings) and the DAS site construction portions (~20 cell sites) of this large-scale project. Selected manager will supervise all installation subcontractors while managing relationships with involved School and HRES building facility managers. Position will report to the DAS Program Project Manager lead. 

 

The key responsibilities for this position include the following: 

 

Manage all phases of the effort to successfully design, build and test up to 20 individual outside Distributed Antenna (oDAS) host building sites; Work with ATT and Verizon engineers on oDAS host building specifications and selection criteria; Schedule and manage all proposed oDAS host site engineering surveys; Oversee creation of construction drawing sets (CD’s) and photo SIMS for each location as an aid to state, municipal and school approval processes. 

 

Manage all on-campus macro cellular signal benchmark testing (approximately 375 buildings) including scheduling all building walk-throughs and arranging access to secure areas with building managers; Escort all vendors performing testing; Arrange safe access to oDAS host roofs to install temporary test transmitters; Schedule building walk-throughs to test simulated oDAS cell signal levels; Oversee ATT’s documentation of all target building signal levels; Identify priority in-building areas that will require additional signal remediation to obtain a quality level of enhanced cellular service.

It is an NFL mandate -- to help stem attendance erosion from people staying home to check fantasy football score updates and watch RedZone clips.  Teams that do not get their uber enterprise grade Wi-Fi in order will face some heat from the league.

at the airport today in phx...  i connected band 41 got some ridiculous speeds... at a site that has been pre network vision with no lte upgrades... and i have connected to all three lte bands, as well as some 1x800... i knew that it was getting close sprint and alu have been here nightly working on the site...  for the past week

 

I posted  an engineering screen and speed test screen shot link while on 41 its on the phoenix building permits page...

How many b41 sites are up? I am hardly ever on any, is Phoenix itself littered with b41?
