I agree! From the faux VoLTE that I get on my iPhone after dropping off WiFi, I’m excited for the VoLTE. Sprint definitely has ALOT on their plate this year. I really want them to meet or exceed their plans.

Yeah they have a lot. I’m praying they execute flawlessly. Crazy to think 5G is next year.

I hope this is a sign of the progress they are going to make by the fall in deployment and densification because as the network stands now in my area VoLTE would not be a good thing.
You can always turn it off on your device if your area isn't ready yet. It's desperately needed in some markets though (which have the density to support it), as 1x is too congested as a result of thinning. It will be nice to be able to use my phone for calls again when I'm not on an Airave (dedicated 1x carrier), since currently I can't understand what people are saying most of the time because of such heavy compression.

Marcelo’s take on Verizon’s Go90 possibly going away:

Shots fired.

UPDATE: It’s official: https://www.fiercecable.com/cable/go90-gets-officially-folded-into-oath-multi-platform-agenda-brand-set-to-fade-away

I wonder what the latest with TIDAL is. Unless I missed it, I don’t it remember it being mentioned on the recent Earnings Call. Sprint apparently put $200 Million into it for a 33% stake. (https://techcrunch.com/2017/01/23/sprint-takes-33-stake-in-tidal-plans-to-offer-it-to-its-45m-users/)

TIDAL is mentioned on the website here: http://www.sprint.com/network

Sprint TV never seems to come up either:

https://shop2.sprint.com/en/services/power_vision/sprint_tv.shtml

http://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/services_solutions/details.jsp?detId=tv&catId=service_ready_now&catName=Ready+Now&detName=Sprint+TV&specialCat=

https://www.sprint.com/landings/tvguide/

Although there are Apps for iOS/Android, it seems pretty neglected... I wonder if that service is being deprecated.

i called another sprint user tonight, with Wifi calling enabled on my account AND connected to wifi for the call and it was done in HD voice, incon showing and everything.  both of which are not supposed to happen base don historical discussions.  big changes afoot or just another bug with the essential?

HD voice with WiFi Calling has been a thing for a while now.

I've had HD voice when using wifi calling to talk to other Sprint users for at least a couple of months now. I just figured that it was one of those little things that Sprint enabled for everybody with little fanfare. It's a bit inconsistent for me though. Most times it works, other times it doesn't even when calling the same number.

I happened to come across this nugget. Based on the before images and looking at the completed sites map on here and the planned towers, it looks like Sprints coverage will look like the before pics.

The before pic shows coverage in North Dakota. What happened there? The map is only 3G. I would like to see LTE

This map is from 2011. I would guess these 3G areas will be LTE

That was a map detailing the loss of a roaming partner years ago. Really no reason to bring it up now.

Off topic I guess, but do you remember who the roaming partner was? Just curious.

I haven't heard much on the Tidal situation. What is Sprint TV? Is it similar to Go90? I remember back around 2005-2006-ish there were some tv packages Sprint had I didn't understand exactly what they were for, and if I'm recalling correctly Sprint's internet packages were a bit of a mess back then. I was in a few stores alot during that time talking with store staff who let me use their info helping people on HowardForums get into the SERO program. Yet, even the staff weren't aware fully of the differences between the internet plans back then, and as I was looking for service ahead of its time and needed to know exactly what was being offered to avoid the overage mess Verizon caused me back then, I didn't end up switching to Sprint. However, I still supported them by helping with the SERO referrals for awhile.

    • I posted this in the Nebraska Premier thread last week, but just wanted to share in this thread the progress that T-Mobile has made in filling in the great coverage gap known as Nebraska. Between late last year and this year, they have added 28 new expansion sites filling in the coverage hole, plus 11 Sprint site conversions in eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa. Notably, in the last month n41 coverage was added on over a dozen expansion sites in western Nebraska that were added to the network last year. For comparison, here is the very first map that I created in October of 2022 after we noted expansion sites outside of Sprint conversion in Lincoln and Omaha. It doesn't show any western parts of the state, but just know there was nothing besides roaming coverage and a little B12 coverage leaking down from South Dakota to the west of Valentine, NE.
    • Sent a copy of my DB in an e-mail just now.  Couldn't leave the house today but can hopefully get a screenshot when I'm out on another cell site tomorrow.
    • 76MB Google Play System update after that, bringing the date up to 3/1 from prior 2/1 date.
    • April security patch is already out - 738.30 MB download.
    • What do you see with the latest alpha/ beta version?
