True but this was likely line of sight. Sprints upload CA breaks down fast when foliage and buildings are introduced.

Yeah I noticed. That's why it should be aggregated with B25 long time away. Sprint is Still the only one that doesn't aggregated all their bands. 25+41 being more important.

B26+b41 is equally more important. It would give b26 a huge capacity boost that I needed a long time ago.

Some people have seen 25+26. What's makes no sense is it's only been 25+26 and no 25+25+26. Makes no sense when there are two carriers online. S9 should support it tho

Yeah it's not on mine either. I was told you can do it with the MSL code but I can't see how.

You can do it with the MSL code but it has never worked. For example before 2XCA had a toggle in the MSL menu it was already activated. Also I wonder what Sprint is planning on doing to band 25 since the setting to have it use TM9 is there but inacvtive

Transmission mode 9 reduces interference between towers and helps keep SNR more stable. Sprint is the only carrier I have seen using this. For now it’s used only on B41. For FDD LTE carriers use TM3 and TM4 depending on signal. I have also seen B41 using TM7

Do you know if this is used in Clear B41 equipment also, or just the new B41 equipment?

I honestly don’t know. I don’t have Sprint on my iPhone any more so I can’t check.

Verizon’s 5G service will cost $10 extra, launches in Chicago and Minneapolis on April 11th

Quote

The initial rollout of 5G for Chicago and Minneapolis will also be limited. In Chicago, Verizon says that it’ll be concentrating service on The Loop (especially near landmarks like Union Station, Millennium Park, and the Willis Tower) as well as in the Gold Coast, River North, and Old Town areas. Verizon’s store on “the Magnificent Mile” will also offer 5G service.

Minneapolis will see a similar concentration, focused on the Downtown West, Downtown East, and Elliot Park areas of the city, with a focus on landmarks like the Minneapolis Convention Center as well as the Target Center and U.S. Bank Stadium sports venues, along with the Verizon store in the Mall of America.

Looks like mmWave isn't that easy to deploy on a wide scale... 😬

Quote

Verizon also announced that its next-gen mobile service will cost $10 more per month on top of its existing three unlimited plans. The new prices will now start at $85 per month for the base Go Unlimited plan for a single line (which is always subject to throttling and only offers slow hot spot speeds and 480p video); $95 per month for the Beyond Unlimited (22GB of unthrottled LTE, 15GB of LTE hot spot, and 720p video); and $105 for the Above Unlimited plan (75GB of LTE before throttling, 20GB of LTE hot spot, 720p video, and a few other perks).

Alongside that will be the carrier’s first 5G smartphone: the Moto Z3’s long-promised 5G Moto Mod, which is set to cost $349.99 at retail.

And it's expensive. Double yikes.

And if no merger .. sprint will do the exact same thing.. sprint may not add 5G as a add on to make it look better, but prices across the board are set to go up

Even if Sprint had a $10 surcharge it would still be cheaper than Verizon while offering greater coverage, at least initially.

Under current promotional offerings yes, but as quoted by the rep: “once the promotional period is over the plan price would fall in line with what about what everyone else is charging “.

With 5 lines being $210 a month

Its pretty amazing how much further along Sprint 5G is vs the competition. Especially when you realize the most powerful wireless company's attempt at this deployment is particularly sad.

This 5G deployment has more drama than a Telemundo soap opera.

Ya, I think sprint isn’t really telling everyone the true story about it (based on wanting to get the merger approved), but their 5G will be more than just limited coverage areas ( according to Marcelo )

Yes the prices are kinda steep but best believe Verizon is going to have a very good 5G network. I truly Believe that if Sprint had a stronger network, they’d charge the same but they are in no position to do so. When you have a good product, people don’t really have a issue with paying for it. Prices are going up across the the board periodt with 5G. New plans will be introduced with a higher price. Let’s just hope, that we don’t need to Change plans for 5G access and they will keep offering an add on to current plans and it’s not an initial thing until its coverage is more widespread

I agree, they are in the best position when it comes to 5G. It’s really just getting that Massive MIMO up on towers and getting the backhaul together.

Yup, and after that just optimization.. maybe a a few towers/small cells where needed and it should be a robust experience costing far less than what the competitors are doing.

If any of you watched the hearing yesterday. Marcelo told the entire panel: “ we are financially, ok now. “.

Oh for sure. It’s really Sprints time to shine. Sadly we might not get to see that if the merger goes through.

    • Do any of the experts around here how much of the Sprint network assets will be reusable by another carrier, eg the mythical 4th player, let's call them Dish? 1. EPC 2. eNodeB 3. RRH 4. Routers 5. Back-end infrastructure (customer facing and internal business servers)
    • Ok I've now set up my third A4 and it doesn't seem to be getting a WAN connection. The WAN light is blinking green (same sequence of lights after about 12 hours). It's plugged in directly to my Netgear cable modem (which is not a router, just a modem). Can anyone assist? Thank you in advance.
    • I don't believe so. None of the Airaves have. I also heard that 1x HD Voice does not work on any device which supports VoLTE (including devices which support it but don't have it enabled yet, such as the S9). It has something to do with the way calls are routed in the backend, VoLTE capable devices are routed differently than non-VoLTE ones. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
    • Thank you!  After my initial experience when the A4 was first set up and my phone did not stay consistently connected to it, I went back to their residence about 5 hours later (and I also updated the profile & PRL on my phone) and my phone latched on and stayed connected to the A4 for the entire time I was there (about 2 hours).  During my initial experience 5 hours earlier, I made a Sprint to Sprint test call on the A4 and HD Voice was not working (HD Voice does work in their area on the macro network).  I forgot to make a test call during the time I was there 5 hours later.  Does the A4 support HD Voice for Sprint to Sprint calls?
    • For mine it took about 1-2 days before phones would even see it in neighbors. Then they started connecting to it about a day later. Basically, I think there's some sort of automatic integration that has to go occur at the network level. I say this because when it was finished, my MB had changed PCIs. I think anytime a device like this comes online, all the others like it in an area change PCIs. Small cells behave the same way. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
