They are in Altice and Cox markets....

I’d love to see a deal made with RCN for the DC area, including areas of MD and VA.

I feel like this is one of things that if we say it more than three times it will happen. B)

LOL! Perhaps!

I can’t imagine Sprint working with Comcast given Comcast’s arrangement with Verizon. Not sure what Sprint’s actual densification plan is here otherwise.

Chairman Pai blogs about items on the May agenda for the FCC.  Among them, an item about 2.5 GHz band licensing.

cool. If some does indeed get auctioned, I wonder if Sprint would be allowed to participate given the amount they already have and certainly haven't used.

Im certain Sprint will be the ones pushing for this considering they have the equipment deployed to support this, and its probably random licenses scattered in most places making it less useful for other carriers.

Comcast is looking to offload some of their Verizon data fees by deploying small cells in their territories. Whether they might want to cell capacity to third parties is an open question. Maybe Sprint can entice them to deploy dual band (CBRS, 2.5GHz) small cells.

That's very true. I figured they would be barred or something from buying more based on how much they are currently sitting on that's unused.

I've been randomly following this guy's site. Former clearwire worker who helps auction unsold edu lessors capacity in 2.5. They have held a few the last year or so. I wonder if we will see some reform here.

I believe redspark posted about the plan to expand license areas from a circle to meet the next lessor or to the next county line. Long time listeners will note It has been in the works for a couple of years at least. Maybe this is supporting that plan. Great find Mr Trip.

I did? I’ll have to go back and check!

I found this FCC Filing that Sprint made on March 26, 2018: https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/10326217025032/March 26 Sprint Ex Parte.pdf

To add to the document that was posted above this post, Sprint has made a statement on the 2.5 news today.

One thing that really stands out to me is:

Quote

“While we saw this as a positive, Madden questions S’s ability to make the best use of this spectrum and seemed to imply this asset may be better used in others’ hands (cable was mentioned),”

Wells Fargo the last supporters of Sprint are throwing them under the bus since they haven’t seen any action from from them.

I am eager to look at the quarter earnings and how much they spent this past quarter, but what will open my eyes is quarter one which close in June. That will tell me if little Massa is starving Sprint again in hope of getting that merger with T-Mobile.

How did Wells Fargo throw them under the bus?

You may want to re-read that paragraph.

Probably true. In case of emergencies people working there are more likely to be running around yelling on their headsets, "Get that GMO site back working, stat!"

I’m not sure what carrier these belong to but my God. That’s some serious equipment sitting on the bottom level on the pole I passed in Columbus OH. The picture doesn’t do it any justice

Verizon uses these same panels in my area at higher populated Venus's. I was told those are sector splits for Verizon .. each sector pointing/ a serving a different area.

That's for the bottom site .. middle looks like a TMO set up with band 4, 2,12 .. top I can't tell

The top is Sprint.

That tower is a cross the street from a mall. There’s a crap load of other things in the area including a IKEA and a Top Golf that’s going to open in the fall.
