Framily Plan Service Charge

I have a line on my account that was originally activated in November of last year. When I switched to Framily back in February I was told that because all previously subsidized lines had been activated or upgraded before January (10th, I think?) that the $15 service charge would be waived for a limited time. Everything had been fine until this week when I logged into sprint.com to pay my bill and noticed that the newest line (activated in Nov) now had the $15 service charge under plan add-ons. After chatting with a rep they told me it was an error and zero'd out the charge but it is still appearing on the add-ons for that line. After thinking about it, I was starting to wonder if the charge being waived for a limited time meant it would be waived for early adopters of Framily, or if it was a fee that would be applied and waived for a limited time only. Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

The same thing happened to me this week. I had the charge zeroed out but the SOC still shows on my line.

The only time limit was having done an upgrade before January 10. I upgraded my phone back in November and switched to framily in February. I haven't been charged the extra $15. Sounds like something was misapplied in the billing system.

For you guys that are on Framily that upgraded on 2yr contract prior to 2014 are you all seeing any significant savings by switching to framily?

I haven't saved much, yet. I just got my third Framily member last month though, as I get more the savings will start to add up and make a difference. I don't regret switching from unlimited my way.

I certainly am. I went from paying about $190 for 3 lines to about $100. But I was able to hit the magic 7 number.

i find the Framily plan a bit suspicious if you ask me...  just another marketing gimmick to try and compete with other companies.  I think i will sit this one out and see how it plays out over hte next year.  Does anyone know if discounts are still given with the Framily plan?  I dont know that it would save me money anyway, as i would take the unlimited data option on both lines, and there are only 2 of us.  And im not going to petition for others to join it, as i am not marketing someone else's product/service.  But maybe i do not know the full details behind this.  it just confuses me.  thats all.

Not utilizing having people join your framily or you joining another framily would defeat the purpose of the framily plan itself....

I haven't seen any charge on my latest bill

It wasn't showing up on my bill yet, just In the plan add ons for that line. I caught the problem before my next bill generated.

For someone with two lines, that doesn't intend to add more, no Framily does not make sense. But once you start getting over 5 people, it does start saving you money vs other unlimited options.

Put your code on reddit. i had a customer do that yesterday while in the store when i was setting them u and when i checked the code last night they had already gone from 2 to 8.

That's what I did, full family within hours.

Is there a reason why something like this isn't going on here at S4GRU? Wife and I are looking to move to the Framily plan and I was looking to keep it in the S4GRU Framily.

There was at one point in time in a thread about framily(I believe that's what it was about), but I'm pretty sure it got closed up due to the usual reasons.

If difficult if not impossible to add existing Sprint customers to another Sprint customer's account. You pretty much have to bring people over from other carriers in order to add then to your Framily.

Its not scientific but from my daily experiences less than 10% of accounts are eligible to merge with another framily. When i see the offer in an account its usually an older account (8-10 years old), has some lines out of contract and tagged as a high churn risk.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
