I am on the fringe of LTE, getting one - two bars (Signal Check says its higher), however I am not getting Data at all

Why would that be?

Wouldn't let me post photos, so here's drop box link

So I noticed that Google never asked which model (D820 or D821) of the N5 people wanted when going through the ordering process. I guess that if it's shipped to North American they just send you the D820?

Yes.

It appears people who ordered two day delivery are getting priority ship days over people who got regular shipping, not just a quicker ship rate. Ordered on the 5 and still left with 26th ship date. Its like being able to cut in line at Disney if you paid more for the same standard ticket haha.

That's what I assumed so when I ordered mine on the 1st, I chose 2-day. Got it really quick (32gb white) on the 5th, although it originally said leaving warehouse on the 8th. :)

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but do you have mobile data enabled?  I saw you had WiFi off, but is there a separate setting somewhere to turn mobile data on and off?  My signal in my house is about -105 dBm to -107 dBm at times and I get fairly good DL and UL speeds.

Yea! Mobile data is on! and 3g works fine, just not LTE

That and it appeared in the beginning white models were shipping a lot faster than the black models....less of a demand or a higher supply are the only two reasons I could think of.

This is kind of a noob question but I just got my Nexus 5 today. How do I see what Lte channel I'm on? I could see the frequency in SignalCheck on My Evo Lte but not on the Nexus. I'm I. The Chicago market so I'm curios to see the extra Lte channels.

Use the dialer code *#*#33284#*#* and scroll to the LTE Engineering menu and look for the Band XX entry.  for the specific frequency you are connected to, unless you have a HTC phone it won't show up on SignalCheck app.

On that LTE Engineering screen, note the EARFCN DL (downlink) number and then punch it into this EARFCN to frequency calculator in the link below to get the actual frequency. Choose LTE for network type and choose North America for region.  Enter the EARFCN DL (downlink) number and walah!!!!

It did. I'm on the 1900 MHz band right now.  I don't know if there are any of the other bands that are live around me...since I'm not a premier sponsor with the sweet maps.

There should be LTE 2600 in scattered parts of Chicago.  There might be LTE 800 in Chicago but at this point LTE 800 is a huge mystery and no one knows which areas if any has been deployed with it yet.  But in a huge market like Chicago, you would have to think that LTE 800 is deployed somewhere but no one is going to drive to each tower and scan for LTE 800.

You need to enable the B26 and B41 LTE bands under the dialer code *#*#3282#*#*.  however you need your MSL code in order to Edit the option to enable/disable B26 and B41.
