In the *#*#4636#*#* screen under "Phone Information," is "LTE only" one of the option for you to choose as your network (when your sprint sim is popped in).

Thank you.

Thanks. With the 32's working now for activation is the online system wanting the MEID or the other number? Or does either work now?

This is what I was told:

1. Log onto Sprint website.

2. Navigate to "My Phones" and proceed to activate your phone on whatever line you choose.

3. Enter MEID Minus the last digit.

4. Recieve error telling you phone caannot activate at this time.

5. Open chat and fill in with appropriate info.

6. When chat employee asks for ESN, just give them the IMEI minus the final digit.

7. They will ask for UICC #, give that to them.

8. Profit.

Just picked up a SIM from a local Corp Sprint Store. Called ahead, gave them the SKU, said it was free.

Stopped in and the guy who I talked to on the phone was "in training" but wanted to help me out. Some neck-beard repair center guy said they would need to activate it on a phone at the store. I told him "I wish I could activate it here, but I have a SERO (employee) account and can only do it through employee sales."

I guess that's all he needed to hear. I got my SIM, and now I'm waiting for the UPS truck. Good luck, all.

I was a 2-3 weeker when I ordered, yet it is arriving today.  That's over two weeks early.  Hopefully that will be true for everyone else.

I'm still sitting at 2-3 weeks.  Here's to hoping something will change soon.

Got my SIM, entered the info on sprint's site, talked to chat and gave them the info. They told me to turn on the phone. Still no service. They told me to try and make a call and it says "Mobile network not available"

Under select mobile networks, sprint is no longer listed (not sure if it was before) only ATT and Tmo.

Any ideas? The chat rep seems stumped.

I just looked at my settings (my phone is not set up by the way) and under "Mobile Network Settings" there is a "Network Mode" Option.  You choose 2G, 3G, or LTE.  Now I'm guessing if you aren't in a LTE area, you may not pick up a signal?  Try to switch it to 3G and see what it offers you then.

Just a random idea.

A profile update did the trick, for anyone else with problems.

I just read that the 32gb N5 will not be allowed on TEP at Sprint.  What are people doing for insurance? None?

I've always used squaretrade for my phones. With their regular 30% off coupons it's under $100. While that made sense for a $600 phone, I'm not sure I'd get it on a $400 phone (especially since Squaretrade raised their deductable to $99 on all claims, instead of $49 on accidental damage claims only).

Whatever you do, don't get the Best Buy plan. The warranty is $200 and there is a $150 claim for anything not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If you even use the plan it would cost $350, which is the price of a brand new phone!

I called both of my Sprint Corporate Repair centers in town, and both told me that they have not been issued any SIM cards, they don't carry them, and they can't give me one. One of them told me to call customer care to get one.

My order for SIM card that I placed via chat is still in limbo - no updated shipping information, nothing. An order support person told me this morning that it is on backorder and will likely be fulfilled within 15 days. Bummer.

Yes, you can rest assured that it will be an option among the usual list of cellular radio modes.  That is consistent across numerous handsets.

Remind me of Smooth Criminal even though you did not do anything wrong lol.

My 32GB black as well as my spanking new SIM will be arriving sometime this morning.  Thank goodness the MEID issue was resolved.

I don't understand how people are still having problems obtaining the SIMs.  We have already established that the international chat works like a charm.

doesn't work if you have a SERO account.

The problem there that I ran into is that they're backordered, and they have "no idea" when they'll ship.  Sure, put an order in, but you may be sitting on your N5 until after the return date waiting to get the SIM to use it properly.

This is exactly my situation. Very frustrating. I guess I'm lucky in some sense because my Nexus 5 has not shipped yet, even though I ordered only 57 minutes after launch.

I just placed an order for two sims and I am on a SERO plan. The only four questions I was asked via chat was: my phone number, email address, which model, and address. I checked my order status and it is not being listed.  I am giving the Sprint system a little to process it. She mentioned it might not ship until the 8th. No big deal.

*UPDATE* Order went through showing "LTEGSM REMOVABLE 3FF USIM" under Description.

Did you do International Chat or regular ecare chat? That's the point about my post - you can't go through international chat, they won't help you if you have a SERO account.

Also, I have been in limbo on the SIM card ordered just like you for about 5 days now. No shipping notice, no news, nothing. I was told it will take 10 days to get in stock. It could be longer than the 8th, like you are assuming.

I am not sure what you are viewing, on Google Play it is showing "Carriers: T-Mobile, Sprint"

Under the normal ecare chat. I promise you it went through and I am on SERO-P. I am a Sprint Corp Store ex-employee.

Yep.  I am stuck in the Catch-22: the system won't let me order one until the phone is active but I can not (to my knowledge) activate the phone without the card number.  I have been on the phone with them for over an hour while multiple people are trying from both Employee Relations and International Services try to resolve the issue.

The staff are very friendly and mean well but I've gone through multiple supervisors.  Right now I am on another hold where the supervisor is trying to override and just order the card.

The call has been long enough that I've gotten the survey text (or maybe that was from yesterday's call starting this).

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
