In the 1x engineering screen, look for band class. If the band class is not listed as PCS, then make sure it says [10] in the brackets to the right. It slides left to right.

Sorry about the crappy shots, I tried my best...

This is what the screens look like when I'm in the part of my building where I had no problem receiving coverage before, but still deep inside.  Confirms PCS.  If I go onto the upper floors I get a great band 25 LTE signal.

This is what the screens look like when I'm in the part of my building where I had no service until a couple of months ago.  Could still be PCS, not sure how to tell.  If it is still PCS, maybe they tweaked the nearest tower a bit so the signal is better.  I'm not schooled in the engineering aspect of all of this...I can say that I took these screenshots in the bottom level of a two level parking garage.

No, that is indeed band class 10 CDMA1X 800.  The 22xxx SID is a dead giveaway.

Thanks AJ, I thought it might be CDMA1X 800 but I didn't know how to confirm it.  I knew something good was happening when "No Service" disappeared for good and my phone stopped roaming down in the garage.  A subterranean parking garage, by the way...

CDMA1X 800 -- the service you can take with you even when you are six feet under.

:P
