The following photographs are pictures of Huawei dual mode capable Wimax / TD-LTE RRU (remote radio units) as part of a DBS 3900 series setup. These equipment were originally made for the Clearwire Wimax deployment and are now being re-purposed via software upgrades to enable TD-LTE capabilities.
The Huawei equipment currently used by Clearwire are temporary and will be replaced by one of the TD-LTE vendors (Samsung / Alcatel-lucent / Nokia Solutions & Networks ) in the near future.
As of 2017, all Huawei equipment has been decommissioned.

Stake in Company to grow to 70 percent over the next five years.
Japanese carrier SoftBank is eyeing an investment in U.S. phone distributor Brightstar. The deal will see SoftBank take a 57 percent stake in the company for $1.26 billion in cash, and has already been approved by SoftBank's board. Brightstar is a name you may not have heard of before, but is one of the biggest phone distributors (acting between manufacturers and retailers) with a presence in over 50 countries worldwide.
The deal will make Brightstar the exclusive distributor of handsets to some SoftBank affiliates, presumably including Sprint here in the U.S. Along with its investment in Sprint, SoftBank's stake in Brightstar could give it a better foothold on securing the latest devices for its carriers. The deal is still in need of regulatory approval, but is expected to close by the end of 2013, the companies said.
According to the Weather Channel, the sun is about to do a polarity switch in about 3 or 4 months. This apparently happens every 7 years or so, so I'm assuming if there is any sort of effect here on Earth we would have noticed from the past. Anyways, my question to all of you knowledgeable people here is: When this occurs we will notice any sort of cell phone reception issues? Be it for the day or a week or what have you? The last time the sun "flipped" was in 2001, albeit we had cell phones back then I feel as though they weren't advanced as they are today. Do you guys think anything noticeable will happen with this upcoming flip?
