You guys are still waiting on Shentel to take over. It shouldn't take too long once the take over is complete as the combined PCS holdings will enable expansion from the small 5x5 to two individual 5x5 for double the capacity or even 10x10 second carrier for triple the capacity. All of which is through software but until Shentel takes over you guys are still at the mercy of the woeful ntelos network. =(

I would just like for my calls I receive to actually come through.

Is this the first time you connected to LTE with your Boost phone? Is it only on this one tower or is your phone number missing all the time now? I am sure you tried to update your system,profile, and prl. So I am not sure what you need to do.

 

You may have to call sprint again and tell them about it. The no phone number is strange and may have to do with some thing between your phone and the network. Like your phone needs reset for the network which can be done by your local store.

Was like this all the way from Charleston wv to Bluefield WV. Only dropped signal in the Beckley dead zone around the welcome center and roamed to Verizon and US cellular as shown in the images. However I was not able to access anything.... I'm now connected again, but back to 3g....

When I had issues outside of my home area it was caused by forgetting to do a profile and prl update. But it maybe related to your phone trying to connect to LTE only outside your home area. There is lte on most the trip as seen by sensorly which seems to be correct by my trip through there. But there is LTE from Huntington to Ashland also so I am scratching my head.

But sprint does I have LTE there. I have been able to match a couple GCIs to sites. That is why I asked if it was the first time you saw LTE on your Boost phone in nTelos. They maybe testing Boost plmn there and you can call them to tell them it's not working.

Oh, I have called weekly since December 13th when the Boost coverage map had Huntington listed as being an area that has LTE.

Well folks, it became easier to move to a different sprint region then get shentel to fix this mess lol :-) (joking...kinda)  

Moving up to Columbus, OH (got a new job)here in a few days, and will be promptly switching to sprint soon after. Its be fun, but I am looking forward to living an a market that is serviced by sprint proper.

3 weeks later still experiencing horrible LTE coverage in Martinsville area. I think they only cut on 2 towers for the entire area. Unless you're on a high hill, we only get one lil dot of LTE. Do they usually just turn on one or two locations for a few weeks? Surely it'll be better than this :)

The LTE that was saying Sprint in SignalCheck, now it says nTelos as of Saturday. I guess the rest of the tower info stayed the same because my notes are still the same in SignalCheck.  I wonder why they would change it to nTelos?

Nothing network side changed. Signal Check was updated to properly display nTelos. Notice before it was Sprint**. That was an indication you were connecting to something that wasn't exactly Sprint (but still native signal) but Signal Check wasn't sure what it was.

Still following this roll out even though I've now switched carriers. Many towers in Beckley have began to have 3 extra antennas so 2 per sector. I saw one yesterday and thought I might have just seen it wrong since I was driving but just now on my way to class the tower by my campus had workers on it and each sector has an extra antenna to it. Is this just extra capacity adding a second carrier like the above post in Charleston? I don't have a sprint phone to test it with currently but I know last time I curiously checked my mothers phone there is still ONLY B25 in the Beckley area.

Type *3001#12345#* into the dialer and hit call and it will take you to the engineering screen. Tap freq band indicator and this screen will appear.

Correction - tap serving cell info and then look at what freq band indicator says.

      Unable to confirm if it's really off but I noticed this morning that I'm no longer connecting to Band 41 on my home site. Switching my phone to LTE-only pretty much always put me on Band 41 since it was the least used band on T-Mobile's network. Now I'm only able to connect to Band 2/66. Not complaining because it means speeds are faster on LTE and maybe 150MHz n41 is around the corner.

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
