LG G2 Users Thread!

So I called Sprint to get my msl and they said no it's against company policy. They think I will switch to another carrier. I can't find even on Google another way to get it. Any help would be great. Thanks

That's absolutely stupid. How are you going to switch your phone to another carrier? Sprint has these phones so you cannot "switch" to another carrier.

Got a spare Sprint phone? Log into your account. Swap the old phone for your G2 in the system. Complete activation. Then switch it back. In both cases you are given or MSL code on the web page in case you need to go edit your info to get activated.

I always just tell them I am an application developer and I need the MSL to access low level system values. They never argue with me after that.

This is what I've always done to get my msl. They give it to you and then email it to you... I thought they weren't supposed to give it out lol. [emoji6]

+1 for that method. So much easier than dealing with a person.

To use TWRP to switch PRLs, you'll have to one time switch the PRL manually on PC. After that, you should be all good.

Before doing anything, take note of your current PRL and boot into TWRP. Make a backup but select only EFS partition. Name the backup (PRL "Number here"). Then you'll have a stock PRL ready. Then you can flash 513 via PC and boot back into TWRP and backup EFS again and this time it'll save your 513 PRL.

When you're ready to switch PRLs, just boot into TWRP and recover a backup (select one of the PRL backups and you're done.)

i wanted to get my band priorities changed to see what that does even though I know the network will find the best connection for lte.

Also debating on rooting the phone

Is this like a game of charades? Not sure what your post is about... Are you asking a question or making a statement, like talking to yourself in the grocery store. [emoji12]

BestBuy doesn't have free replacements anymore for accidental damage. It's like $150 now, which is on par with Sprint. And Sprint covers lost/stolen.

In case anyone wondered, Google FINALLY fixed Play Music so it doesn't stop 50 times with the "Sorry cannot play music steam" error anymore. The ZVC update broke Play Music for us G2 Users.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
