LG G2 Users Thread!

When you say data voice drops do you get the red X in the signal bar?

No, the 3g icon and voice bars will go from spinning(3g) and full bars to grey. Then 5 to 15 seconds later it comes back. A buddies One Max don't do that.

ZVB for LG is the internal testing version, but for Sprint ZVB is the next release in their cycle to keep it consistent.

So basically, this is LG's ZVC renamed to ZVB.

at least that is what I am being told

Let's hope so.....

Finally! Hope there is wifi calling. I will just be happy to get nfc payments back. I was pissed when I found out the G2 didnt have it because I used it all the time.

You'd think they would specifically list Wifi calling as an added option :( that would be really nice though!

Not sure if this helped or not.  I have been manually checking all morning.....nothing.... I restarted my phone...checked a few minutes later and it was there.

Do you happen to know how to upload it possibly to someone on XDA?  Lets get this show on the road haha.  Seems like you were the first to get it.

It is installing now....do you know where the download would be on my phone?  If I can find it, I will throw it up.

Not entirely sure.  Of course I ran across the information in a thread earlier today, but I can't find it for the life of me now...  I think I read that it has to be uploaded after the download and before the installation of the update.  Maybe?  Probably too late anyhow.

Did your install finish?  If so do you have any first impressions?  If you are in an area with LTE, any RF performance differences?

After KitKat installed, I can not put my phone in "LTE Only"

5689#*980# was the previous way I did so.

    • Darn that stinks. I just got mine setup using the LTE backhaul and i'm getting pretty decent service.  Still can't use it to make a call no VOLTE however it is nice to be able to use the LTE for my phones and spare the WIFI for other devices.
    • After seeing this comment, I tried a couple of things and viola, it works. Unfortunately I still wasn't successful connecting to the network. It was a bit tricky with the pi because it has a hard time initializing the modem after a reboot if I don't cycle the power on the modem too, of course that's resetting the IMEI. Working quickly I was able to get it all synced up, but still kept getting the Call failed/Out of Call errors in the logs. If it would have worked I would have worked harder to figure out a way to pass the AT command prior to bringing up the network. I did verify the IMEI with AT commands and uqmi as well. I have all the connections I need, but I am unable to find the thicker 1.13mm coax pigtails. LTEfix doesn't seem to have them either   I ordered a ZBT WG3526 since it seems pretty well supported, and based on your comments I am going to get a beefier power supply for it as well. On a separate note: I figured out a couple of things about the Askey router, not that it matters much those little MHF4 looking connectors on the antenna traces look like test points. When you use the proper cable it acts like a switch and disables the antenna while taking measurements. MHF-SW23 Also there is a serial port nearby the sim slot that is marked Tx, Rx, Gnd on the flip side of the board. I was able to watch the board boot by hooking up an arduino like a jerry-rigged ttl cable, no shell though. I saved the output if anyone cares.
    • I know that, they would have to reconfigure band 5 to include SMR.
    • SMR doesn't cover B5, so those carriers would have to do B26 Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
    • I've come across a number of Crown Castle oDAS nodes (small cells) on T-Mobile. I think a bunch used to belong to MetroPCS. I found 3 in my own neighborhood and one in Williamsburg. The ones on my neighborhood all share the same the same eNB ID which makes it annoying to track on Cellmapper since it's 3 separate "sites" but only one marker.
