So, if the rumors are true, in roughly 48 hours we should have Sprint Spark. :) I sure hope so. My moms S3 gets 2 bars of LTE in my house, when I get none. It is a brand new tower, so I feel like it is the CSFB issue.

To the people reporting poor Band 25 reception.   Did you enable Band 26 and Band 41?   Maybe Sprint was already ahead of you on this and you actually are causing the problem?   Maybe they made

I hate that the update is pushed in waves but I understand its for bug testing purpose. Lg needs to do something like samsung kies air.

Usually with my most updates, someone will post it and you won't need to wait.

I don't remember anyone posting one for the last update the G2 got. Also I no tech place on the internet even acknowledged the update.

It's all over XDA. Most of the ROMs were updated within a week of receiving V8 OTA.

So, as I heard they will be sending the update out in waves, will they do the same order again? Or maybe different? Because I got my update 5 days after my dad and brother did. It really upset me... :(

OTAs for all Android devices (except HTC - see here) are completely random, no matter what wireless provider is involved. It is done that way to keep the load balanced on their servers. If you can't wait for your turn, it will probably be available for download from sites like XDA shortly after the rollout begins.

Do you have band 41 active? If so it loves to jump.

I don't, I turned off the other two bands just incase there would be an issue once the Spark update rolls out. Oddly, the last few days I have been without eHRPD and my LTE signal holds on like crazy. I've seen as low as -138 dBm quite a few times. I've also had it where it won't switch to 3G for phone calls because I will suddenly have 2 voice mails just pop up randomly.

There is an exception to this. HTC devices .HTC uses their own update server infrastructure rather than relying on Google's GOTA Android servers (available to all Android manufacturers, hence the scheduling). Because of this, they can dictate their own update mechanism, which is usually a free for all. Fewer devices to update compared to all other manufacturers, thus fewer resources required.

Have you called Sprint about the issue, there may be an outage or just something wrong with your device

Bluetooth issues still persist.  Haven't been able to remedy the problem.  Brother's N5 doesn't have static in my vehicle, but my g2 does.  I've tried 100% stock, and custom ROM. (Not AOSP yet, but heard it has BT issues.)  Anyone know what else to try?  Totally lost here.  Maybe the OTA will patch some unknown bug that exists.

Thinking of switching from my 5s to a g2. Does anyone have a concrete answer as to when the spark update will rollout? Or is still just rumors. How does the g2 perform on band 41 without the update? Thanks.

Sprint confirmed it'll be out sometime in January.  So worst case scenario, it'll be Jan 31st.

Me too Im gonna stay up to see if anyone actually gets the update. I pretty sure that I got the last update pretty qyick so hopeing i get it again soon. Does anyone know if it matters wether or not your on data or wifi to get the update quicker or is that even feasible or possible? Just wondering if it makes a difference?

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
