Results were not as bad as expected. Investors like it, and Sprint shares have unfortunately risen above $6 this morning.

I will continue to monitor the stock over the next few weeks for possible sub-$6 points to initiate a position.

It's under $6 again

It hit 6.16 today.  42 cents increase in one day.

A significant gain.

Any hope left for significant downside is some surprise event or if the general market is down bad. Otherwise, the bottom may have now passed. Let's see what the economic numbers are this week (GDP, jobs, Fed).

Congrats to anybody who has a position started at $6 or less.

i don't have sprint or any large value from the company i work at currently.  At one point in time, I had a lot of money invested in my company stock.  My fortune was at the mercy of how well this company was doing and to me this is too much risk.  I currently have a very diverse type of profile and I try to keep a 40/60 diversification.  Forty percent in bonds and the remaining in various stocks.

To diversify your bond position, you may consider putting some of that 40 percent in treasury inflation protection funds. I would hate to see what interest rate increases would do to that portfolio.

After buying Sprint shares near $6, my position has enjoyed a healthy appreciation. Since the market rewarded today's quarterly report, I will probably be in hold mode for the long-haul; don't know if there are any downward catalysts left aside from overall market events.

Great day for S!

Agreed. Hit above $8 for the first time. My position in Sprint has appreciated over 30% the past 2 months.

Such a quick run-up should trigger a sell, but I am confident that Sprint will go even higher over the next 2 years.

Any predicted drops soon? Or should I just buy while its still under $9?

The Spectrum deal that Verizon/T-Mobile are making might make it go down a bit - but if Sprint announces a T-Mobile takeover, the stock could skyrocket.  Totally unpredictable.

The stock has already appreciated 50% within the past few months, so you may have missed the boat.

If you do buy it now, your patience should have to be at least 1 year, as the stock price is likely to be volatile.

    • Unable to confirm if it's really off but I noticed this morning that I'm no longer connecting to Band 41 on my home site. Switching my phone to LTE-only pretty much always put me on Band 41 since it was the least used band on T-Mobile's network. Now I'm only able to connect to Band 2/66. Not complaining because it means speeds are faster on LTE and maybe 150MHz n41 is around the corner.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
