jrollercoasters
Weird thing just happened i picked up LTE but only for like about 1 second then it went back to 3G in Santa Maria.thats a good thing it means its close to your area or they are testing it out.. I would download the app the lte discovery.. it finds the strongest network by cycling airplane mode 10 secs off then on for 30.. repeat.. you can do it manually the app just makes it easier and will automatically stop when it gets lte Sent from my SPH-L720 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk

jrollercoasters
Sorry but I have iPhone and it's not in the App Store.I would just try to cycle airplane mode manually then turn on airplane mode for 10 secs then turn on data for 30 secs and repeat 3x most if you dont get lte then you dont have it and they might of just been testing it out which is good news, dont get your hopes too high tho Sent from my SPH-L720 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk

Nibbles021
Am I reading this right sprint using td-lte. Sprint disclosed in July that it plans to deploy Clearwire's 2.5 GHz spectrum using TD-LTE on all 38,000 of its planned Network Vision cell sites in a nationwide rollout. And, due to the weaker propagation characteristics of 2.5 GHz, Sprint will also deploy small cells and other sites beyond the 38,000 Network Vision sites. Previously, Sprint had said it would use Clearwire's spectrum as a "hotspot" LTE network to offload traffic in urban markets. rickerwdi
It is stated that the updates are posted once weekly, anymore is a bonus. That has been the policy regardless of his moving. Yes Sprint is deploying TD-LTE on clearwire's vast spectrum of in the 2.5Ghz that they now own. This discussion is in many topics over the site. There is a list somewhere of the first markets to get this LTE launched....It is already live in many of those markets. This spectrum in the 2.5ghz will be what separates Sprint from other carriers since it can (I think) deploy it in 20x20 if not more. Lets get back to talking of the North LA market.... Nibbles021
Ok does Santa Maria have lte or where they testing it out when I picked it up for like a second.
rickerwdi
I would assume testing if you only had it for a second. Become a sponsor and you can find out where towers are and you can go inspect them yourself to see if they are upgraded. (or just look at the awesome maps available to sponsors) Have you tried to look up permits that Sprint may have got from the city or county in your area? Thats another tall tale sign of upgrades either already completed or coming soon.
squigey
Found a full build site in North LA. I was keeping track of it, since it's down the street from my work. The guy I talked to was pretty friendly and said they've been working all over So Cal. Their last job was in Indio and were glad they were in Ventura since it wasn't 100 degrees here. He said it should take them about a week to finish then they'll fire it up to test. I'm sure I won't be able to connect to LTE for a while, but good to know full build sites are starting/have started in North LA. Just an update on this site. It's been waiting on for fiber from ATT since it was accepted back in July. It looks like the fiber might be ready, although the junction box could very well be just installed without the fiber pulled to it.

If network.sprint.com is accurate, LTE might be available in Oxnard near Community Center Park. I drove by the other day, but no luck with LTE. I'll probably try to swing by again tomorrow to give it another try.

I was able to keep the signal all the way to Wood/Hueneme road when it first went live. I don't think I'd be able to map that far if I tried it again, since it seems like the site has been adjusted to cover less area. The second one though you should be good every time....although you might need to cycle airplane mode since the phone might not scan in time while passing through at 80mph. WallsOfJonathan
Well, I tried to o map the lte I had picked up this morning in poet Hueneme on my drive home, but as quick as it arrived, it was gone again. squigey
It looks like the mapping I did yesterday is showing up on the Sensorly website. Someone mapped on Wooley and there was some signal picked up on Harbor.
