isn't Sprint TDD 2500mhz...?

No, not really.  Band 41 is nearly 200 MHz in bandwidth.  It encompasses both 2500 MHz and 2600 MHz.

ENGADGET WAS WRONG! HTC's website shows Tri-Band. You have to go through the UK site!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, the standard HTC site has the same info.

The headphone jack is going to be on the top.  Pow!

I'm psyched!

All I'm saying is that they should have a priority line for people who already have the HTC One.

This is Phablet of the year, especially if you are going to use it on Sprint.

So it's single band, no stylus, no removable battery, 2GB ram instead of 3, base model is 16GB instead of 32, and it's significantly thicker and heavier than the Note 3.

I don't see the average consumer leaning towards this. Tri-band was the one that it could have differentiated itself on since the specs aren't arguably "current."

I'm ok with the Snapdragon 600, using it now on the S4 and its acceptable to me, albeit the S4 ran at 1.9ghz, but I don't play that much 3D intensive game on it, so the 800 would have been nice, but its not a deal killer for me, the boom sound and tri band and the 6" screen though, those are what I want, the Speaker on the S4 is so anemic....

What are you talking about?  Have you not read the posts in this thread nor the specs posted at the HTC site?

So all along that single Chinese source was right in that it was a a Snapdragon S600.  Not too impressed that the device seems kinda thick at 10.27 mm (0.40 in).  People must be glad that it comes with a microSD card slot.  The 3300 maH battery is not too shabby.

3G - UMTS/ HSPA:

EMEA: 900/1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 42 Mbps

Asia: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 42 Mbps

Sprint: 1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps

Verizon: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps

3G - CDMA

800/1900 MHz for Sprint and Verizon

Lists Sprint in HSPA lol. No Sprint's CDMA is reaching 14.4 with the best of conditions.

Any chance of an external SD card slot? Gotta have my extra 64gb

Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk

According to the specs on the HTC website under Memory, there is a microSD card slot that can accept up to 64 GB.  You are in luck!!

This probably also means that Sprint and Verizon will most likely sell the 16 GB version because of the microSD card slot.

What do you guys think the HTC One Max on Sprint will be priced at?  I am hoping that it will be $199 or at most $249 on 2 year contract especially if they want to cut into Galaxy Note 3 sales.

It means that if you were to use the sprint variant on another gsm network then it will support hspa+ up to 14.4mbps.

I am more curious to know what the off contract pricing will be.  While I am undecided at this point, my other half wants to get the One Max, she is digging the larger screen.  I tried selling her on a note 3 but she can't stand how samsung devices look and feel.

Everyone, it is now officially the HTC One max. So, get with the program. A huge handset requires an ironic lowercase name.

Considering that the HTC One is sold at $550 off contract according to Sprint website, I would guess the HTC One Max would be $600 for the 16 GB version.

Yeah but the One came with 32gb so I am hoping that by some miracle that the one max comes in at no more than $600 for the 32gb version.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
