I was jut driving by the tower out by my house and they were working on it. I stopped and talked to them and they told me they should have the new radio's and Antenna's up by the end of tomorrow. This tower is at Deer Flat and Ten Mile. I was told that once sprint has done the radio test's they will turn up the tower which might be as soon as Monday or Tuesday. This is good news. :tu:

If you live in southeast Idaho I drove by the cell cite in Blackfoot and they had crews working on the tower. They had caution tape up everywhere and it looked like they were running new cable to the top. Looks like they might be starting to do some work on this side of the state. One of the empty crates said hybrid cable on it. Not sure if that is the fiber optic used for Backhaul or not. Guess we will see soon.

Hybrid cable is usually run from the basestation to the RRUs on the tower.

This would be awesome! My 3G is pretty much useless in Poky

Are we sure this is not a t-mobile crew?  Tmobile brought up LTE in Pocatello and Rexburg in the last couple weeks with blackfoot and Idaho Falls supposedly going live soon.  We've ran into t-mo contractors like crazy down here in utah.  Seems like we see them more than we do sprint.

Yeah T-mobile is on a different tower plus they had an article in the newspaper where they interviewed the crew doing the work and they said they were installing Sprint 4G/LTE.

I connected to 1x on 800MHz last night by Federal Way and Broadway! In a low 1900MHz signal area. Will upload screenshot later today. Im on PRL 16015, it showed as Roaming but was still on sprint. Also didn't maintain a separate 3G/4G connection on 1900MHz like it did when I was in Chicago. I'm on a SGS3

Now seeing 1x800 while also connected to eHRPD off Boise and Broadway. My phone was roaming on Cricket late last night while they presumably made the upgrade, woke up to 1x800. SID: 22408 PRL 16015
