Upper Central Valley. It's literally right at the border with the lower central valley market (which is slated to begin in the summer). UCV is confirmed to begin in the spring and full builds should begin any day now.

Thank you.I sure we knew for sure because there's no point of getting the galaxy 4 if i cant use lte yet.The wimax 4G here is pretty good here,so i guess i'll have to wait til we know something more.

I spoke to my friend who is friends with a guy that works for Samsung and they are doing all the planning and ordering of equipment for LTE in the UCV its happening. And he starts with his new company Monday and I hope I will be very shortly too. Hopefully working on this stuff. It would be a great time to come in and learn from the get go on how to upgrade and overhaul everything to the new LTE standard.

Since east coast U.S. is and has been rapidly covered and San Francisco/other areas on the west coast been attended to, when is the capital gonna get some LTE love? And since sprint has funds being sent from Softbank, will sprint start spending money aggressively knowing that money's being sent in a few months? The 3g here is unbearable.

Check in the markets sub-forum for information about your area

Based on the latest information available it would appear that tower upgrades are ongoing. Consider becoming an S4GRU sponsor to have full access to all the information your heart can desire.

You can check network.sprint.com for updates on the 3G improvements. If your area has less than 100 upgrades listed there then its pretty reasonable to say that LTE is not in your near future. When that site shows over 150 upgrades then you will probably start to see LTE popping up as well. Currently Sacramento is only showing 77 upgrades.

Which are all legacy network upgrades at this point. No NV/LTE work accepted yet in SacTown.

LOL..."SacTown????" And, ya know, spelled like that...without a "k?" Not, like a grocery sack or a sack lunch...but, rather, a b-llsac??

I'm sorry. What an unfortunate nickname!

When I lived in Vacaville, there were many different local references to Sacramento. More than just SacTown. There was also Sac, Sacto, or even Sacra-tomato. However, Sacratomato was only popular in the pre-teen crowd. ;)

What the hell is this? I mean... yes we have a lot of delicious tomatos when it's the season but Sacra-tomato????? =\...

Darn teens from the bay area (or near the coastal mountains)!

But typically we people from the city of trees call our hometown sac , sactown, or just plain sacramento.

PRL 55103 for the note 2 came out today, I'm not sure if it's going to have any effect on the Sac-Davis area. Speaking about Davis, have we gotten accepted yet, or have we fallen with the same fate as the land of the kings?

Just throwing this out there with all this talk about Sac, I hope everyone here is fully supporting and contributing in some way to help the Kings stay here. Our city has lost a lot of jobs between all these big companies that have left recently Campbells soup, Comcast, Hostess, I don't think our, or my city will do so well if we lose our Kings. Even if you just click to like stuff and share stories of people like Carmichael Dave and the Playing To Win Tour, it helps. I'm going to the last game of the season April 17th, and I truly hope just the season. Sorry for the little rant but this is something near and dear to me and I think economically it would be devastating for the UCV. See how I tied that all in, in the end. Lol. GO KINGS!!!!!

Enjoy the game with the Clippers, and as much as I need to support my local team I just need to keep going with the Lakers, And just to tie it in to the whole LTE episode remember that without the lakers we wouldn't have the kings :D

Expect blots of purple to appear in june - july time frame with the majority of work being done around july to august. Work has not started but will within a couple of weeks...

The thing that really sucks is that for the past year I have receiving dates for launch, and then the dates come, and new dates get issued.

It is like when your parents promise to get you something or take you somewhere and you keep asking about it and they say next weekend, and the next weekends keep coming.

I just want a solid date and have them stick to it.

July and August is not that far away, but still too far. Where do you get any dates from? I have not once seen our region even mentioned next to a release date. Just curious. The way I try to deal with anticipation is to suppress the excitement that one day I will have LTE on Sprint in my neighborhood. :-)

The Central Valley markets, both Upper and Lower, are supposed to start by summer based upon the original time-frame that Sprint set for Network Vision. So far, most markets have stuck to the original start times. That's where the July-August time-frame is coming from.

The UCV market is supposed to start before LCV. Does that make you feel better?

What Sprint is doing is complicated enough to preclude a "hard" date. They're upgrading all of their towers and running new backhaul to most of them. It's not like they're trying to go on a beer run or something.

    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
    • At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!
    • Did you mean a different site? eNB ID 112039 has been around for years. Streetview even has it with C-band back in 2022 - https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7303042,-73.9610924,3a,24.1y,18.03h,109.66t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1s2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g!2e0!5s20220201T000000!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3D2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D18.027734930682684%26pitch%3D-19.664180274382204%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu Meanwhile, Verizon's eNB 84484 in Fort Greene has been updated to include C-band and CBRS, but not mmWave. I've seen this a few times now on updated Verizon sites where it's just the CBRS antenna on its own, not in a shroud and without mmWave. Odd.
    • Drove out into the country today.  Dish stuck to my phone like glue. At least -120 rsrp. Likely only good for phone calls (should have tested.) It then switched to T-Mobile. Getting back on Dish was another issue. I am used to dragging out coverage so I expected a few miles, but had to drive at least 10 miles towards a Dish site. Airplane mode, which worked for Sprint, did nothing. Rebooting did nothing. Finally got it to change over about 2 miles from the site by manually setting the carrier to Dish then it had great reception. Sprint used to have a 15 minute timeout but I did not have the patience today.  Previously I did a speed test on Dish out in the country at the edge of Dish coverage. My speeds were 2g variety. Dish has really overclocked some of these sites. Seen rssp readings in the 50s. Would have called them boomer sites with Sprint but much  more common with Dish.
