bfniii
yes, in the browser. i've tried a couple of different filter apps. they work great when not browsing in incognito mode. i can't find anything that filters incognito mode. when i shop around on the internet, the forums for each product are filled with people saying the same thing. it seems unbelievable that there isn't a solution at all. Can you clarify? Are you trying to block Incognito mode, or block things inside of Incognito mode?
bfniii
either but, i would settle for an app that filters incognito mode. blocking it altogether would be preferable.
cripton805
I'm pretty sure you're always out of incognito mode unless you open another TAB with incognito on the stock browser. Are you trying to spy on someone elses phone, so they can't use incognito themselves?

I'm not entirely sure what your purpose is quite yet. If you want to block Incognito.... just don't use it? Blocking things inside of Incognito, well that won't work because Google turns off all outside influences when you go Incognito (ex Ad Blockers and such). That's why it's Incognito. So nothing can track you, and nothing gets saved on your device.
bfniii
the purpose of a filter is to ensure that certain websites can't be accessed. incognito mode circumvents that restriction. so, if you have kids who borrow your phone, which my entire family does, all they have to do is launch incognito mode to get to those sites. it's a shame that google, et al, haven't provided a way for parents and conscientious owners to maintain that level of control. incognito mode is informally being called porn mode. as i was saying, if you browse comments on filter websites, people are disappointed with this situation. i was hoping the phone brainiacs here knew of something. Install a different browser and disable Chrome or the stock browser? I don't know. I've never needed to do that.
cripton805
Incognito on my Samsung Galaxy S3 doesn't filter out any web sites. What incognito mode does, it simply doesn't store any data during your browsing session. Let's say you watch porn. It won't get saved on your history, cookies, etc... So, maybe what you're looking for isn't called incognito mode at all and you're confusing it for something else.
cripton805
Uploaded with ImageShack.us Screenshot of the list of what incognito does. It doesn't do what you think it does.

kendokken3
I have noticed that what ever you search for in the incognito mode will show up in the Google search function on the phone (hold down home button on S3,select the button in the middle). You can at least check out what they searched for if they were in this "porn mode".

Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2 No. That's not part of the functions of incognito. You can probably find something by rooting the phone. There's some people that might be able to help you on DroidForums.Net It probably won't be easy, but I may be wrong.

The only solution I can come up with is to install a browser that doesn't have incognito, and disable the others. bfniii
i haven't come across any info that shows how to disable the default browser short of rooting the phone which i don't want to do. being able to see the google searches is helpful but, not very preventative. as i was saying, this is pretty unbelievable in this day and age. it's astonishing that google/android/whoever didn't think of this. i understand the point of incognito and that's great. but, there isn't an option for people who want to disable it for parental reasons. or at least require a password to launch incognito mode that can be adminstrated by parents. I simply answered your question. Incognito was never meant to include that function and I don't think it ever will. Incognito mode simply resembles it's exact definition. Adjective (of a person) Having one's true identity concealed: "operating incognito".

If anything, they should make something that tracks information and cannot be deleted unless you're an admin. You would be able to know if the kids watch porn or not. It's difficult to prevent it with all of the technology and their friends technology.

bfniii
I've prevented unauthorized activity on my computer just fine. I can't replicate that administration on android phones. I've checked android forums and i know i'm not the only person unhappy about this. Frankly, it's ridiculous
dedub
a user can access the exact same sites 'incognito' as they can in regular mode. if you want to block porn, you should want to block in any mode. the only thing that incognito provides, is that you can not go back and look through whatever browser history or cache or searchs. which it sounds like you understand, but the point is even if you block incognito, someone could still access porn sites. The easiest and simple way is, is to control who uses your device. If you don't want them accessing stuff, and they are your kids, and they do anyway, then you should take whatever steps necessary to discipline them. Parenting 101. In any case, it sounds like you either need to root and block sites at the dns level (which typically blocks ad's and malware sites too), or check out some of the apps @ https://play.google.com/store/search?q=web+filter
