I keep losing data connection on my new S3

Once my S3 connects to a 4G towers is that stored in the phones memory somehow or does it rely on the LTE scan cycle. Does anyone know the duration of that scan.

Also when turning on airplane mode do I need to wait the 10 seconds for airplane icon olto come on.?

It only happens with the S3 though.

I read somewhere that there is an alcatel lucent issue with devices dropping data connections. I will see if I can find the source info. I have the same issue in an alcatel market but have seen it with multiple devices. Toggling airplane mode seems to fix it but somedays I have to toggle three or four times.
