LTE Tower Testing

Does anyone have any clue as to what takes place when they test the new NV site. Do they do this at night? middle of the day? does 3G go down? what exactly happens?

I believe I read that they run both at the same time for a while. If I remember correctly they NV stuff is all G block PCS and can run at the same time as the old carrier. S4GRU is reading this so a definitive answer in inbound I bet.

From what I've read, it varies. Sometimes they leave 4G LTE open overnight, sometimes during the day. It's completely random.

You won't notice any interruption in service until they switch over to the NV equipment for testing. You may experience a loss of signal for 3-4 minutes. Just remember that they might complete 3G before LTE.

Thanks that was exactly my next question. I see people here talking about loss of signal that's only brief during this time I guess?

Oddly enough, they test EV-DO and 1x on the G-Block too.
