Jelly Bean for our HTC EVO 4G LTE??

Hey i did message you saying my sisters evo lte had gotten an update. What sucks is hers was connecting to Lte and my evo wouldn't even hold LTE. It wouldn't hold even if I toggled airplane mode. I was busy so couldnt check her phones version or firmware as s4gru told me and she just left on vacation.

Make matters worse for me, the BBY mobile guy that sold me the phone was at my local best buy and offered me to try and exchange the evo at sprint if not go back and he'd switch me a new galaxy s3 lol...Being real though I rather everybody get the best out of sprint lte than me getting a free exchange.

It would have been a baseband update at least. If the version number didn't change in the about android section then it was no software or firmware update.

I would take him up on that offer. I'm not a big Samsung fan but the GS3 is a great phone. Sprint just switched my Evo for the GS3 and it is a slight upgrade.

I went in for another try the other day... guy was like a friggin idiot. He kept saying LTE wasn't being launched until next year anywhere. Umm.. go check the map on line. He comes back and says no that's the old 4G. He goes on to say that Sprint is testing 4G here to see how it works out but only testing phones can connect. I asked him where and he told me a few towers would cover the entire city since it used the old Nextel data band since they shut down the data for Nextel. Umm??? Soo...I picked up my phone and just walked as it felt like I was arguing with a fence post.

Lmfao first bby mobile guy I tried was the same way, luckily I found the guy that sold me the EVOs. I'm gonna give it a go if the update isn't true

It is just as I figured, no update for the EVO Lte 4g. Oh well, we will get it eventually, probably right after the Samsung Slll gets Licorice or whatever the next big update is going to be called.

To be honest I really wasnt expecting jellybean for the Evo this quickly anyways. It wouldve been a pleasant suprise, It will be here eventually, just got to be patient and wait it out.

My wife received an update to her EVO this morning. But it does not appear to be Jelly Bean. She emailed it to me below:

I asked her to let me know if she got an update on her EVO a few days ago. This morning she told me there was an update that appeared. She said she accepted it, and it rebooted. I asked her to send me screenshots of the menu. I won't be able to go check anything until I get home.

This is what I have on my Evo from the last update awhile back. The only difference is the PRL. Mine is 24006.

Blur, I'm not sure how you do it. I think this is the second time you have told a story like that and a visit to the Sprint store..

Your wife is awesome. I can't get my girlfriend to tell me if her phone is in 3G or 1X, she does does this

Can you see why I HATE to go to the stores here? I have no idea where they find these people but they are always different people anytime I go.

I received a sprint zone update this morning. I bet that is what she received. I show the new version number being 4.3.18.

Hmm... it looks like Sprint confirmed it:

I wouldn't be surprised if it was jelly bean anyway, I guess only time will tell.

I think you're right. I asked her to notify me if her phone gets an update. I didn't specify or explain any type.

Can you imagine the number of pissed off people if this update is NOT JB?.....

If its NOT JB then I can't see what issue other than LTE connection fix would prompt them to spend time on a MR OTA... Especially with JB update around the corner.
