lilotimz
Definitely not sprint. That's an ATT setup. Notice the 4 connectors and 1 RRU per sector with one side of the panels not connected. That side is where the connection to utilize AWS is located.
Ejm2420
Oh then where is the nearest sprint tower by speedway & alvernon ? & has it been modified for LTE?
lilotimz
Permits has been applied on a good portion of Sprint cell sites in Tucson including that storage place. There are some sites accepted for 3g (which is the prerequisite for 4g acceptance due to the modus operandi of alcatel-lucent) in the greater Tucson area but any specific info is sponsor only. Ejm2420
Why do they have to be ' 3G accepted ' if all sprint towers here have 3G already?
lilotimz
Network Vision is the complete replacement of Sprints legacy network. Everything is getting torn out. Old panels, old coax cables, old backhaul, base stations, etc. The new gear will have be installed properly and inspected and accepted for different technologies such as 3g / 3g CDMA 800 / 4g LTE. For Alcatel-Lucent, their modus operandi is for to get a site 3g accepted after 45-60 days of work and then 30-45 days afterwards will get 4g up and running. Ejm2420
So sprint hasn't even finished 3G acceptance so therefore 4g in tucson hasn't even started :c
S4GRU
So sprint hasn't even finished 3G acceptance so therefore 4g in tucson hasn't even started :c LTE fireups will occur long before all the 3G is complete. The first LTE sites will probably start to live in Tucson in the next 20-60 days. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
Ejm2420
That sounds great . Even better if they started in the 20-30 day area (:
Ejm2420
& I was wondering when youll update the network vision deployment running list?
Ejm2420
Okay so earlier I was getting 5 bars of service & couldn't connect to 3G at all until I got to a new area of tucson. So I was thinking maybe the tower I was connected to was getting the data worked on or something, I have a picture. http://i.imgur.com/kvBHFFT.jpg Edited May 19, 2013 by Ejm2420
lilotimz
Wouldn't surprise me as there are a lot of issued permits inside tucson that are not accepted for any NV upgrades yet. Crews are confirmed to be working so be on the lookout. If you become a sponsor, you can check out the tucson sponsor map thread where a fellow tucson person documented which sites are in progress, etc.

TechSmurf
As far as I've noted in my research sprint is not operating on any monopalms in Tucson. That is very likely an att tower.

Ejm2420
I'm pretty sure when 5 different people call whoever they're calling and somehow my phone rings, it's not wrong number anymore. It's getting redirected to my phone.
halcyoncmdr
Perhaps someone forwarded their calls and put your number in instead of the one they wanted to. Not sure of a way to block that though.
Ejm2420
But there are several people men & women that are being forwarded to me
