How do we find the location of the accepted sites? Are they in the sponsors section?

 

Yes. We have maps of all the completed NV sites in the Sponsor section. They are updated weekly.

I saw activity on the following two cell sites yesterday:

 

Tustin Ranch Road & I-5 in Tustin. Appears like a network vision conversion in progress.

 

Nohl Ranch Road & Nohl Canyon Road in Anaheim Hills. Cell site at Trinity Lutheran Church was getting work done. Not sure what they were doing there but it could be another network vision conversion underway or it could be a new data speed/capacity addition.

Wow! San Diego is coming online! Everyone has to Sensorly the crap out of both San Diego and Orange County! How far ahead is San Diego? I thought OC was started first?

 

Im in OC and once I pick up LTE I'll start mapping. I mapped a little for southern LA.

Nope. I don't see anything in Fullerton right now. As of last week there were no LTE sites operating anywhere in Orange County.

i have a feeling it will first start showing up around Disney Land based on sprints NV map. one near disney-land / orangewood and orangewood/ Euclid has the most upgrade per site.

So what sites are signed off in the OC? Cross streets cause if I'm in the area I would like to see the new setup so I can tell if a site has been upgraded when driving around.

There are currently two sites showing as having 4G accepted in OC. Their exact locations are only available in the sponsors section. If you become a sponsor, Robert will give you access to the completed sites map. I highly recommend it.

It means accepted, or "signed off." However, Sprint allows connections to accepted sites immediately in most instances. Only at a handful of sites are customers not able to connect to an accepted site. And its usually because of a problem.

None of the accepted Orange County sites are broadcasting LTE yet. Or they are blocked. It may be related to bringing the core online for this market. We had one week with accepted LTE sites in SNA. Nothing since. I think we are still a few weeks before we start seeing an LTE push in this market.

Here is hoping for Ladera, and you were right a few pages back, coverage has been poor in Ladera over the last little while. We were just short of Wimax (by a few miles before Clear stopped the rollout), hopefully they will move quickly in south OC this time.

I just took a look at the updated NV maps for Orange County in the sponsors section. What a huge jump in the number of updated sites! Way to go Sprint and Alcatel Lucent! I imagine that a NV 3G site is convertible to LTE as well? Isn't that the main selling point of NV, to have cell sites that can host multiple wireless generations/wavelengths? I have a feeling LTE is coming soon... Just a hunch;)

3G upgraded sites have NV equipment which is ready for 4G, it just had to be enabled. We expect to see the 4G upgrade completed on more towers here in the next couple of weeks.

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
