You do enough to respond troll.

Rants will not be accepted here, nor telling other members that they are trolls sprint.com is the best way to go if you must express the way you feel about sprint as this is not sprint and will not get you no where.

So I get kinda bored at work driving around Detroit all day. So when I see a tower being worked on and the guys doing it are having a union smoke I ask who the work is for and all of them that I have spoke to say LTE for T-Mobile. Which from what they tel me is being deployed start of 2013. I will still be keeping an eye out, and I know it hasnt been announced by sprint and idk if its been announced here I'm kinda new

Next time you see some Tmo LTE work, take a picture and post it. They initially were planning panels with integrated radios for their LTE network. I would love to see them. It's network nerd porn. :)

It's hard to tell in the photos, especially being viewed on my phone, but it almost looks like they are moving legacy panels on the bottom rack to make room for NV panels. Are you going to be back by this site in a few days to take some more photos? We should be able to tell for certain in a few more days.

This is like a minute from my house and I drive by it everyday going to work. I'lll see what I can do to get better shots of the tower and the base equipment. There was a truck loading facility on the back side I bet I could go in there a get a shot of the tower with out the trees as well.

Sorry the base picture is a little blurry the rain started to really come down. Ill keep a lookout for sprint work and try to get a better shot of the tmobile antennas when they are on the ground at a different place. I run into T-Mobile sites being worked on about once a week.

I tried to find some of the towers based of this map.

https://network.sprint.com/search/48122/

I believe the pictures below are from the tower on fort st between West Outer Drive and Southfield (it's kind of a sketcy area) The panels are on the towers and if you look theres actually two sets one set above the other on the building.

I'm up visiting in the Detroit area for a couple days. Was driving through Westland on my way to Pinckney and spotted some tower dogs on the tower on Ford Rd in Westland to the Police station. I saw then up on what looked like the Sprint array of antennas installing panels and RRUs. Will have to get a better look before upgrading back home. It's a central site for the city and RF signal showed I was connected to that tower.

The one at 75 and 696 is a mspc tower for the state. I believe it is part of the state radio system. There are also to mdot cameras on it. The way the antennas look its for the 800 mhz P25 radios. Everytime I drive by it I get a very strong signal on my scanner. But do not quote me about the antennas. I know more about piblic safety radios and scanners then cell phones.

Interesting...that would explain why everyday when I'm merging from 696 to southbound I-75 my radar detector goes crazy. What you say above now makes sense and correlates with my Radar detector :)

Yes, right by the courthouse there, the big tower. They lease out space on it and there is a Sprint antenna array on there. As I said, I hope to get another look at it tomorrow if I can. I'm only in town for a couple of days.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
