With 20mhz of bandwidth, that's 4x higher than Sprints B25 in your area. If T-Mobile site density is good in El Paso, then they should be a good choice. And according to Spectrum gateway, it looks like T-Mobile may have B12 active there once channels vacate the spectrum. I wonder what the progress is on the B26 vacancy for Sprint.

So, this is my experience so far! Im not bashing sprint or t- mobile.... t- mobile site density much better then sprint by a long shot. Band 4 20×20 is lit up just about everywhere that i have traveled so far. So, that should mean im getting much faster speeds then i am on sprint? Ether T-mobile has such a huge makets share here or there backhaul is not upscaled to support 20×20 mhz yet... tower at my home area i can only use 4G LTE between the hours of 5am and 7am. Everywhere else im getting between 1 and 4mbps...but desnity is great i never drop below 5 bars

Shows that density doesn't help. Makes me wonder if people are abusing the network there.

Just a quick question. Since Sprint swap PCS spectrum with T Mobile (20×20mhz) in el paso... could Sprint have bumped us up to 10 by 10mhz on band 25?

I would look more at the SNR values more than the service bars. That will give you a clearer picture of what is happening with your service. Also if the 20 Mhz FDD carrier is a new deployment you might be right about the backhaul.

Depends. I haven't looked into the swap yet for Abq/el paso

It seems to be widespread.. I traveled to east side of town and had band 4 20×20 the whole way..80ccf574a01c860b71d3c7de67dbf49b.jpg my buddy said..since the upload is so high it seems like backhaul is on full blast

Congestion. Tons of people using T-Mobile in your area. It's a dead giveaway when upload is dramatically higher than download. Since most people use download a lot more often than upload.

Yes, wish they would dedicate more to download...any fix in the near future....or would i have to wait for them to aggregate.. the new pcs spectrum acquired by the swap from sprint

They have 20Mhz for download, 20Mhz for upload.  It's because people mainly use download that it is drastically lower (congestion).  The only fix is for T-Mobile to add more capacity whether it be PCS (Band 2) or add more towers in the area.

So, im assuming band 12 when rolled out wont perform well..until they ether aggregate or add more towers

Band 12 is not very fast and it's not meant to be. It's just a coverage band so even when aggregated with band 4 it will only add a little capacity. Band 4/12 CA gives band 4 a little more speed. Band 12/4 CA gives band 12 the capacity of band 4 while maintaining band 12 like penetration so at the moment band 12 benefits more from CA than band 4 does. When band 2 is around and 3xCA is a go then there will be major speed benefits. The problem with T-Mobile is once this is in place they will be all out of spectrum and only 4x4 MIMO will increase the speed. Sprint on the other hand in some markets will have as high as 5x5 800, 20x20 1900 and 120 mhz of band 41 while eventually also having 4x4 MIMO. That's way more spectrum.

Thats hard to say. There are many variables such as customer base, abusers, site density, spectrum. I will say that if tmobile is that slow already with out density and more spectrum it wont be that long.

Again I can't guarantee that but if El Paso gets this 20x20 PCS which the FCC will likely approve then Sprint is going to be a good option within the next 2 years. I wouldn't recommend Sprint at the moment in El Paso since most of the market looks to be 5x5 PCS and that's it. Obviously that doesn't cut it in 2016.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however. 
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.  
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
