pyroscott
The galaxy nexus is the ant-iPhone. But will you android fans go for a quad core with OEM bloatware? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
lrmcgarvey
I really like the Galaxy Nexus. But by the time Sprint gets it, it will be too late in its life cycle for me. Also, its getting to the point that with the CPUs, the amount of ROM and storage room that the new phones are coming out with. A little bloatware to me won't matter to much. And if it does. I'll just root and be done with it. Bloatware on my Evo with its whole 512k rom. no internal memory and 1ghz single core is an issue. Same bloatware on a quadcore CPU with 2gig of ROM and 32gig of internal memory.... not much of an issue.
themuffinman
Well for me, as soon as the galaxy nexus comes out I will be buying it for sure. Now when the new quad cores come out I will way my options and see for myself if it will be worth it or not.
lrmcgarvey
I am signed up for all the nexus alerts. But the more I think of it. I just don't know If I could use an upgrade for a year old phone. Galaxy nexus in april (rumor) when the galaxy s3 might be released the same time orjust a bit after? My opinion should be taken witha grain of salt anyway. Because while I was really excited. I've now kind of written off buying any new phone on sprint until they do something to increase our 150kbps speeds here. So I am looking at it as what is coming out months down the line, and not what is coming out the quickest.
pyroscott
I hear you on the speed issue. Don't get me wrong, I am a sprint fan, but I couldn't take the slow speeds. I got the nexus from Verizon but I hope to be back on sprint in 2 years Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

pyroscott
You did go to Verizon? How do you like the Nexus so far? it is wonderful. ICS takes some getting used to, but I love the nexus. And I love my first speed test. 26mbps Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
oversight
I think the Galaxy Nexus will be a decent phone to launch Sprint's LTE network with, but as someone earlier said, it's a bit dated at this point. Personally, while I am eligible for an upgrade in April, I"m leaning towards waiting to see the true next-gen handsets in the Summer or Fall. In particular, I want to see what Samsung, Motorola and HTC bring to the table..
S4GRU
If Sprint can't get the GN by the end of April, its too late in many ways. I would then probably wait for something quad core. BenChase7
Im not so much interested in quad core.. If we can get dual core Exynos power out of every dual core, thats more than enough, IMO. The Epic 4G Touch is lightning fast! What I am more interested in in my next Sprint phone is whether or not it will support LTE on both 1900mhz and upcoming 800mhz LTE frequencies.

Should be some good options either released, or being released in the near future.

oversight
Better efficiency and much larger batteries are both good things in whatever devices are coming out, whether they feature single, dual or quad cores.
legion125
i don't think we'll see a quad-core out until this fall at the earliest, that why the GSlll isn't being announce until this summer. However, I'm sure Verizon is already at the table with the checkbook to get it first and hold it from the rest of us until the 1st of next year. If the GNex or Epic Touch get updated as speculated, then I will probably get one of those when their released, hopefully by May/June. kustu82
I know its not quad core, but I would be intrigued by a phone with qualcomms MSM8960. 28mm process and modem on die should really help with battery power. And if I'm not mistaken it can also hand TD-LTE.

Personally, while I am eligible for an upgrade in April, I"m leaning towards waiting to see the true next-gen handsets in the Summer or Fall. In particular, I want to see what Samsung, Motorola and HTC bring to the table.. I feel the exact same. Was a nice phone when it came out, but already the interals were only on-par if not a bit dated. Sprint is letting some customers buy out of their contract to grab another phone and contract, but as nice as the galaxy nexus is, it doesn't wow me in the specs department especially with rumored quad cores coming soon. My contract expires in August and this time I'm really waiting for something that makes me drop my mouth like the OG Evo did. I would prefer a pure Nexus phone, but I'll see what's available at that time.
legion125
If the uprated GNex+ or GSll+ is announced as rumored, I think it will they will be competitive devices at least until the quad-cores come out this fall.
pyroscott
One thing to consider when shopping, that I didn't even consider, is that ICS is built around the Galaxy Nexus highlighting the strengths and minimizing the weaknesses. Another phone may have better "stats" but it all depends on how ICS plays with the hardware. The nexus line has a clear competitive advantage there. This probably all goes out the window when the next version of windows is designed around another hardware setup, but by then it won't matter, you won't expect a year-old phone to be the top dog anymore. BenChase7
Not much to it, but here is a video from sprint with the G-Nex... its focused on NFC, however. But, at least they have a working model of the phone on here. http://phandroid.com/2012/03/01/google-wallet-updated-sprint-shows-it-off-on-galaxy-nexus-video/
legion125
Thanks for finding that. I'm still in for the GNex, but I could be swayed if its not out by the time CTIA hits in May and seeing what Sprints roadmap is for the rest of the year. If the the quad-cores and/or GSlll comes out in fall in lieu of the 4th quarter as some are speculating, I could be tempted to wait.

Mofus
I've been jonsing for the Galaxy Nexus for a very long time, but if I have to choose between it and the GSIII I'll have a really difficult decision to make. I'll have to go hands on in the store to decide.
AJames25
GS3 is the only other phone that I would consider. But since I am already eligible for an upgrade I would need to at least see an announcement and a time frame by the time that the Nexus is released. Otherwise I will have a GN on day one.
