Anyone know how the LTE coverage is in the monroe township area? Heading down to see my in-law for the holiday. Wondering if things have improved since the summer.

You will have to see

I know in South Jersey not much has changed in the past year. Not sure where Monroe is, but I would imagine things are like they were in the summer. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Started using cellmapper app to map Sprint's coverage in New Jersey. Most of the state has not been mapped yet. Used it when I took a drive up to Union for work and to Cherry Hill Mall for Holiday shopping. Not much to map with Sensorly anymore since the lack of new LTE areas.

There is a lot of areas in town where I live that lack sprint LTE because it's a gmo stealth site that hasn't been upgraded to LTE

By progress, you mean LTE?

It's good to hear they are still working here in NJ though the LTE rollout is taking an eternity. The bigger problem of course is not enough sites. Has anyone seen any go up? I certainly haven't in my area.

In my area especially Milltown and surrounding areas I have seen some conversions but in East Brunswick progress has mounted to a halt

Was driving on Rt. 33 close to route 130. I saw a crane working on the cell tower. Noticed that LTE is now working and it looked like it had B41. This is the first tower in the area that had been upgrade in a long time. This particular area and north to Princeton is still very much 3G.

I attempted to map it on Sensorly but was a little late. Will map it better next time I go up there.

So nice to see some progress over here.

North Jersey is the tower location?

So has anyone seen any new sites go up anywhere in New Jersey? That's the big problem for me. Upgrades are nice, of course they should've been done long ago, but the coverage is just really hurting in too many areas.

I haven't seen any. I really doubt any new towers are coming any time soon. Sprint is focused more on small cells right now. And mostly in urban areas. I don't see rural and suburban areas getting much focus this year or next.

That's what I expected. I've been with them since 2007 and other than some Nextel sites coverage has never been expanded in my areas. Probably time to move on. Too much 3G still and too often service that isn't useable in buildings. The pitfalls of doing business with a company that never seems to have any money I guess.

Yes, I have the same issues. But I think I'm going to stick around. My framily plan is really good and I like the Google voice integration. I've been with Sprint since 2000 I think.

I can totally understand if you want to jump ship. If you are unhappy, you should.

I have had some voice problems at my house with my Nexus 6p. Almost all calls get dropped but only from inside and outside my house. Everywhere else is good. I called Sprint and tweeted Marci, Marcello and Sprint care a few days ago. No response. I ordered a new phone. I will then see if it is my Nexus or the network. No one I know near me has Sprint. My family has AT&T.

Will see what happens but that is something, if not resolved, would encourage me to leave. Thanks to Google voice integration my landlines also ring and I can have a successful phone call. But it shouldn't have to be this way.

If you still have an iPhone 5 that's your problem right there.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
