dingwall1
Depends on what you mean by Spark. Spark capable devices are able to connect to LTE on bands 25, 26, and 41. Band 25 is currently live. Band 26 will be live very soon. Band 41 (the "fast" Spark band) will be further into the future. Band 41 is currently being deployed in existing Wimax markets. Indianapolis was not a Wimax market, so we are further down the list for band 41 awesomeness. If you own a triband device, you will benefit greatly from band 26 as it will be less burdened at launch due to many less triband devices on the market. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Thanks for the reply. A couple of questions for you. I had a nexus s 4g and it had wimax. I got decent 4G in Indy, and sensorly shows Indy as having wimax. Shouldn't that mean we'd get band 41 as well? Also, when you say 'very soon' for Band 26, do you know something I don't? I have a nexus 5 and want the full Spark experience, but at this point just need the 800 mhz LTE for building penetration. My signal check pro app shows that I have excellent 800 signal at my work desk.

These were deployed to provide the minimum amount of service to preserve the license for this area. Those are not to be confused with an actual Wimax network. There are only a few Wimax sites in Indianapolis. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

ballman
LTE down on the Eastside of Indianapolis. only getting 3G on my LG G2. completely losing all service on occasion where I Typicaly could get great service I've noticed a few intermittent issues downtown over the past couple of weeks. I'm hoping it means their working on the B26 rollout, but I have no idea whether that's the case. AFAIK, I haven't connected to any B26 with my phone yet. JimBob
I spent the last 2 days visiting Indy; the west, northwest, and downtown. Good LTE throughout, even getting B26 when needed. I may relocate this October.
newboyx
Shiny new things! In Noblesville just north of Indianapolis. Pretty tricky to hold on to. First time I have seen it. I check multiple times a day. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
newboyx
Seems to be running at a lower power than the other 2 bands. Standing in the same spot about 1 block away with direct LOS of the site I am getting around 20-30 dBm weaker signal on 41. Lower power until optimized. But with B41 there are less interference issues. They would be pretty safe starting out with designed power levels. At least in my mind.
newboyx
Did a little driving today. Picked up 41 at 126th and 37. Held it all the way until I got on 465. Judging by signal strength it was definitely 2 different towers, possibly 3. It was hard to dig into the details while driving. Just going off of info from the engineering screens. Definitely multiple serving cells. I can make some educated guesses about which sites based on knowledge of existing Sprint locations, but obviously not confirmed. Or was this a former wimax protection site?

None of the above mentioned route should have connected to the old protection site on this side of town. My name is Robert, but probably not the one you were looking for. ???? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Wow, then this is big. Nerd porn to the nth degree! So far, I've only connected to b41 on old converted clear sites here in Atlanta but the speeds were not terribly exciting. I'm definitely looking forward to new Sprint b41 installs here in the A. S4GRU
Yeah, to echo the other Robert, all new B41 installs around Indy. We have not seen one Protection Site yet broadcasting B41. If you find one, let me know!!!
newboyx
Fun fact, one of the Band 41 sites I connected to today was also the same one that broadcasted the first Indy LTE that was mapped on Sensorly so long ago. I have completed the Sprint LTE trifecta (25,26,41)! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
dingwall1
This makes me so happy. Hopefully this will translate to the entire Indy market and not just up north.

JimBob
I just moved into an apartment in south Indy. My phone is now "permanently" connected to B26. I seamlessly Skyped with my parents on LTE for half-an-hour giving them a tour of the place.
dedub
Hi, anyone familiar with hagerstown,in coverage? the sprint coverage map shows a pocket of offnet roaming around that area, I wondered how accurate that is. I have relatives in that area I was going to try to convince to switch until I checked the coverage map. thanks for any input.
