Network Vision/LTE - Milwaukee Market (including Madison)

Recommended Posts

Not one site has B41?

Sent from my LG G4

LTE Plus implies carrier aggregation. We have band 41, and we were mapped as a Spark area, but since the name change/technology upgrade, we had remained on the map as only LTE. This June they changed that on the map, although nothing physically changed.

I'm not sure that marketing and making and engineers talk to each other. Although we understand "LTE Plus" to mean carrier aggregation, most probably understand to it mean any B41 coverage.

Argh! My tower is dead! Fitchburg, WI. Anyone else have down towers? I'm roaming! Reported via Sprint Zone and twitter DM to Sprint Care.

38 small cells in Madison by mid-September according to the analyst I talked to, who got in touch with network engineers. Exciting stuff. :-)

Hi all! I'll be in the Milwaukee and Mequon areas in October. How's the Sprint service up that way now?

From what I've experienced, great in areas where it has blanketed coverage. But, places can be spotty! It all depends on the areas you go. Milwaukee is definitely in better standing than around Madison I know!

Btw... be sure to send any logs my way from your trip in the premier thread (link is in my bio). I'd greatly appreciate any data you find!

Hit or miss. Map will show full strong coverage but you will get 3G speeds in some full orange areas. Good in others.

Anyone having issues with your time on the top of your phone being off, speed test going through Chicago, using your phone to log on to Facebook and having your computer getting a warning that your phone is trying to log on from Chicago?

Hey folks, saw this nugget today.

Tucked in at the bottom under; Other noteworthy issues:

»Green Bay’s improvement and services committee on Wednesday will discuss an agreement with Wisconsin Technology Networking, a subsidiary of wireless infrastructure company Mobilitie, for installing 26 small cell antennas on street lights and utility poles.

Looks like all 26 made it to the regulatory organ. Nifty.

There's a new cell site nearish Curry in the Box in Fitchburg, WI, though I haven't been able to find it yet :( Was a piss-poor 3G area and now I'm getting a strong B26 signal

Be sure to post this news in the North Wisconsin thread so the Green Bay people can see it too!

Great find! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled when I go to GB next time.

    • This is why am getting a pixel three XL. I can view the screens through reading it and using network signal guru. Anyways interestingly enough AT&T has a primary 10 MHz PCS carrier and then a secondary 5 MHz carrier aggregated with the PCC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    • So far I've found 5 or so of these small cells. I wasn't able to locate either a building or electrical permit for any of these, but I'm attributing that to the new permitting system that went live last month. Between all cellular permits in the last 2 years I only found 91 records, so a lot seems to be missing. But I am pretty confident that these are AT&T as one is in the shadow of a Verizon/TMO tower. None of them have the electric meter installed yet so not sure how long it will be before these get fired up. These have a pretty minimal footprint, it looks like the radios are under the antenna in the brown enclosure. The only thing on the ground is an H bracket setup for the power meter and fiber termination. This particular one was installed on an existing pole, but most are on newly installed poles.  Map of AT&T small cell permits, as I mentioned earlier, this list is just what I pulled from the permit portal.  View AT&T CRAN in a full screen map
    • 5g is still in the early phases of deployment and testing . I honestly don’t care about 5g one bit..
