One more question and then I am done' date=' I swear! When these towers are being upgraded does network performance go down? On all of these eHRPD towers I used to get pings in the low one hundreds and even lower. Now I am getting pings in the 400's and 500's and speeds more similar to 1x than Evdo.[/quote']

I have written an extensive explanation about the difference between EVDO and eHRPD performance here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1084-chicago-land-nvlte-deployment/page__st__1100__p__49598#entry49598

So I see all these updates where people know what kind of network they are connected to with sprint and additional data. Is this only available for android or for iPhones as well?

I'm waiting patiently for LTE rollout in manhattan to make the best use of my iPhone 5.

OOKLA's Speedtest.net app can @ least show you what network you are connected to under the results tab, just click on the test result you want see your connection information, including network type, IP address, exact coordinates etc..

This is the first NYC market LTE live reporting. Congrats. Please upload your results using the Sensorly app, so we can all see the coverage there. Thanks!

Anyone have a screenshot of the completed sites in West chester? I'd really like to see what towers are close to me, maybe even drive out if I get bored enough to put in some sensorly data.

Does anyone know if the improved 3G will roll out around the same time as LTE?

If my 4S starts seeing speeds above 1Mbps I'll be a happy camper.

3G improvements go live immediately when each site is completed. There have been lots of reports of 1.5-2.5Mbps speeds at the sites that have been converted.

This is all great news. I'm hopeful that the will be more reports of live LTE in NYC before the month is up. I could be totally wrong, but perhaps there are more LTE towers that exist in the NYC market that Sprint didn't list as complete. Without going to any details, I didn't see many LTE towers listed in NYC, but I'm hopeful that there are more than I know of, or more to be listed very soon.
