How was the Mobilitie guy inept? I think everyone in that meeting was ultra misinformed. Its what happens when you let the last generation of folks make decisions for the next generation.

That was utterly painful to watch, none of those folks there offered any sort of constructive ideas on handling any of this, just push-back.

Its all fun and games until billy boy neighbor starts streaming 4k cat videos and brings that one macro site to its knees.

The shady Mobilitie guy cited Pokemon Go and 911 calls as the reason for these 120 ft poles that they want to build. Why is he shady and inept? Just look at Mobilitie's track record (

http://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/article116012318.html

)

. It's a real scandal that has to be uncovered by journalism.

Why is nearly every one of your posts about Mobilitie?  That does not seem like the action of a neutral third party.

Pokenmon Go was brought up because it was a new high data demand over night. I guess he could have said porn and tell them their kids were watching to much porn instead of cat videos.

What was the scandal in the article? People use data and spectrum is finite there is need for new towers. Net neutrality says you can't block data or throttle data because you don't like what users are using.

I wonder how many of those people talking about health have other wireless devices? A lot of things operate near 2.4 ghz and alot closer to the people.

If those people have cell phones at all, they have no room to complain.  The inverse square law says all.

I don't know anything more fascinating than Mobilitie

Then, you have a very limited body of knowledge.

Nuh uh, Trip.  Size matters.  It's those huge ass towers.  They're radiation is dangerous.  Tiny little phones is nothing.

I'm sure you're very knowledgeable and all. But don't let your arrogance do you in. Peace.

You miss my point.  If you truly "don't know anything more fascinating than Mobilitie," then you don't know much -- because Mobilitie is not that fascinating compared to countless other things.

No you're missing my point. That statement of yours just belies an ignorance about the true depth of this Mobilitie story. Arrogance on display. And your response proves this twice over. The joke is on you dummy.

You are probably uninformed about the thousands of approved permits Mobilitie has already garnered. NIMBY is fighting an unwinnable fight driven by total and utter ignorance.

This NIMBY push back is nothing new, and while mildly entertaining, does not warrant any real interest beyond a smirk.

You probably think you know what Mobilitie is about. But my dear sweet pal, it seems to me you haven't even scratched the surface of the story. That's all I'm saying for now.

On a completely unrelated note, do you really think Mobilitie can get zoned to build these 120 ft poles which are the center pieces of their network architecture?

You act as if Mobilitie is on the level of a Russian infiltration or advanced technology developed by aliens.  Now, that would be fascinating.  If it really is that fascinating, enlighten us mere mortals with what you know.

However, you seemingly have a motive here regarding Mobilitie.  S4GRU frowns upon anonymous posters with hidden agendas.  That borders on trolling.

So, put it all out on the table.  Disclose your interests.  Share your information.  And watch your behavior.  Or take it elsewhere.

Can we come up with a clever acronym for tower company astroturfing? That way we can call it when we see it.

Crown Castle Against Mobilitie Engineers...CCAME.

Americantower Stops Slipping Sales...ASSS.

ASSociation of Whiny Infrastructure Property Erectors...ASSWIPE.

We could have fun with this.

So what was the conclusion? I watched the video. Are there Small Cells in Montgomery County today? Did Mobilitie get approved? Edited by drhz

The fact is NIMBY's folks around the country are winning. It's a free country and property owners have the right to protect their home values. Besides Mobilitie is not earning any brownie points by deliberately doing illegal build. https://event-driven.com/sprint-approved-trial-for-contractor-mobilitie

Mobilitie will likely come around. Right now, they seem to be going around the country looking for communities that will allow their cheap deployment of incredibly tall and poorly hidden utility poles.

Of course these deployments aren't aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but they're cheap. Mobilitie is just trying to get away with building as much of these set ups wherever they are allowed to. Once they're finished and there are no more communities willing to put up with these eye sores, they'll likely come back and spend the necessary money to meet zoning laws in cities that rejected their original ridiculous proposal.

Can you really blame communities for denying mobilitie a permit to install poles that are as tall as urban freeway lighting masts?

Yes because it was all small cells not just 70 ft one that are shorter than freeway lighting. That meeting was about what small cell should look like. And the people have spoken none at all even attached to poles already in the ground.

There are a few in Baltimore city on Pratt rd are 1 or 2 should be more. I just went down a few roads with street view. I should add I don't know who the small cells are probably crown castle.
