I am failing to see the point of posting repetitive bad 3G speed tests. We all experience poor Sprint 3G performance in many places on the network. Help me to understand how this is helpful or goes

1x800 in Hawaiian Gardens! As close as I have seen to SBC so far. Might just be testing because it keeps going back and forth to 1xRTT.

Outstanding. I have to head out to the Costco on Commonwealth to gas up my car. If I have time I'll try to take a short drive on Main Street into Alhambra to see how far that signal extends.

 

Just mapped some 4G with the sensorly app on Valley in between Fremont and Atlantic that wasn't mapped before looks like it's spreading slowly2uqyzytu.jpg

So the western San Fernando Valley, though the first in LA has now fallen behind in terms of mapping... Because of spotty coverage and dropped LTE signals? 'Peut être'. I'm doing my best mapping it.. But if anyone is in SF Valley West of 405..Please pull out Sensorly! :) merci beaucoup !

I mapped fallbrook blvd. I am trying to do more as I work here, but i have the EVO LTE, and i have to pray its in good mood to even connect properly. it finds the network and it stays on connecting. I also found a lot more on Santa Monica Blvd, east of the 405, but still the same problem. I hate HTC for screwing this phone so bad.

I had your same phone a few months ago, advertised it on Craigslist, and had someone who wanted to swap phones. Their Samsung Galaxy S III plus a few bucks on my end for the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

 

I mapped fallbrook blvd. I am trying to do more as I work here, but i have the EVO LTE, and i have to pray its in good mood to even connect properly. it finds the network and it stays on connecting. I also found a lot more on Santa Monica Blvd, east of the 405, but still the same problem. I hate HTC for screwing this phone so bad.

I was able to talk Sprint into swapping out my EVO 4G LTE for a NEW Galaxy S III about 4 months after getting the HTC phone. I had been an EVO fan from the start, having owned the 4G, 3D and the LTE... But this EVO was a potentially awesome phone but after some major issues from Sense reloading constantly to messages and 'People app' related processes including messaging app taking forever to load after early Sept update, the uses were drowned by glitches in every handset I got as replacement. The radios were poor; the Galaxy S III doesn't seem drastically better as far as radios but it is certainly FAR more stable, fast, and hey.. Removable battery! :D

That looks like it could be a Network Vision Alcatel Lucent panel to me.

LA60XC339 in Lomita is transmitting LTE. I mapped out a portion of the signal on my drive home. And this was the speed test taken at the traffic signal at Western Ave. and Lomjta Blvd.

thats one of the Glendale sites.It has 3 of them..so i guess that site is ready..on the map appear red(3G)

How do you find these towers and their names? And how do you know that they are sprints?

Did any of you map the area in Marina del Rey on Sensorly? I noticed that Lincoln Blvd, between Washington Blvd and the 90, was not covered. That seems a tad odd to me that the area in question doesn't have LTE coverage with the nearby areas surrounding other NV-completed towers having LTE coverage.

 

Then again, how much do I really need to know about LTE coverage since I am still 7+ months away from my renewal date. LOL

Build out of lte is hardly complete so nothing really odd about areas not having coverage. Both my home and work is within one block of stable 4g. In hoping the build out continues at a nice pace to fill in the gaps.

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
